Chapter 6: You're the Twins who lived

Exiting out of Flourish and Blotts we head back onto the street of Diagon Alley, taking a quick glance back at the shop window I try and shake off the surprise feeling I had at how much books were inside that tiny store it was like the Tardis smaller on the outside bigger on the inside. Flourish and Blotts is the main bookstore on the street Hagrid said it's where Hogwarts students get all of their books for school. The shop was filled with fascinating books about magic including spellbooks, books about divination, history of magic books, and much more I wish I could have gotten more for school.

Tearing my gaze away from the amazing store I glance at my brother as he pulls out the list again to look for what else we may need or have missed "Hmm we still need-" he trails off looking down the long list, I try and look over his shoulder to look at the letter but huff when he pulls it away. I try and balance the items we have brought already in hand for some weird reason they wrap them up like parcels, "...a Wand!" he smiles folding the paper and putting it back in his pocket.

It's so frustrating that he won't let me Double -check the list to see if everything we have brought was needed or that we have everything, he said he'll work it out but we both know out of the two of us which one is the more organised one out of the pair of us. I mean we have already picked up Uniform and the books as well as other bits and bobs I do not see why he doesn't use the letter as a checklist it'll make this so much easier.

"A wand? Well, you'll want Ollivanders. No place better. Run along there, but wait. I just got one more thing I got to do. Won't be long". Hagrid rushes off with some of our brought shopping as I turn to Harry confused he just shrugs and turns to the store going through the door. Following behind Harry into the store, I let my gaze wander around as there are many shelves of wands boxes, but no one in sight to help.

"Hello?" Harry calls out Trying to gain the attention of the shopkeeper to see if he is here or not "Helloooo?" I call out a little louder stretching out my call hoping to catch the attention of the store owner. The sound of a thump grabs my attention as the sound seemed to come from the back of the store. Suddenly A man appears swinging in by the ladder and looks down at Harry and myself smiling.

"I wondered when I'd be seeing you, Mr and Miss Potter. It seems only yesterday that your mother and father were in here buying their first wands." the Gentleman smiles picking up a wand off one shelf and another off a higher up shelf. "Ah. Here we are," he mutters mainly to himself as he places a wand in Harry and my own hands. Harry holds it but just stands there not sure of it, whereas I just look at it confused was suppose to do something when it touched us, like a glow or something "Well, give it a wave" he advises us like it's the obvious thing to do.

"Oh!" Harry looks down at the wand in hand lifting it up he gives it a small wave and the shelves come crashing down in the direction he aimed. I jump in surprise as Harry quickly places the wand on the counter "Apparently not, Miss Potter?" Ollivander turns his attention towards me as I just look down at the wand in hand. Taking a deep breath I hold my wand out like how Harry had done before and give it a swish in the air. The Vase in front of me suddenly explodes I look down at the wand in hand with wide eyes as I slowly place it on the counter. I made a vase explode.

"No, no, Definitely not! No matter..." Ollivander trails off as he looks up at the shelves thinking of his next move. "I wonder" I watch as Ollivander talks aloud to himself as he climbs up one of the ladders to reach higher up on the shelves. After a moment or two, he comes back down with another two wands handing out one each to me and my brother.

I take the wand from the elderly gentleman admiring the artwork that is carved into the wood from what looks like a Willow tree an elegant tulip-shaped detail at the handle and base of the wand and a small leaf/vine designs spiralling around and up the shaft. The wand slowly starts to glow as I look at the carvings made into the magnificent wand.
