Chapter 20: he's a bloody coward
Keeping up my pace with the other three we try and keep quiet as possible as we walk through the corridors back to our Gryffindor dorms hoping we won't get into trouble. i take lead looking down the corridor before we run down them scouting for trouble. Too much practise at the Dursley's. Knowing Malfoy though I really don't think the amount of sneaking is going to get us away from our predicted fate.
"Hagrid always wanted a dragon. He told us so the first time we met him" Harry smiles as I also remember the look on Hagrid's face when he told us. "It's crazy. And worse, Malfoy knows" I look worryingly at Ron knowing he is right he seems like the person that might tell. what am I saying seems he is the person that will tell.
"I don't understand. Is that bad?" Harry questions as I look at him like he is an idiot we are talking about the same Draco Malfoy here right.
"It's bad".
I stop in my tracks the others bumping into my back not realising that I had stopped as I look at Professor McGonagall in front of us in her nightgown and candle in hand. "Willow why did you...." They trail off of the annoyance of my quick halt as they also now see the problem we now face.
Well, I didn't 100% of the time manage to get away from the Dursley's.
"Good evening" She looks down upon us as a smug-looking Malfoy appears beside her a small huff leaves my lips as I glare at his stupid face. Slick back hair, and an uptight attitude? He is a jackass.
She guides us into her classroom as she stands behind her desk I stand close to the others as I watch Malfoy smugly stand to the side smirking like the Cheshire cat.
"Nothing, I repeat, nothing gives a student the right to walk about the school at night. Therefore, as punishment for your actions, 50 points will be taken" I feel a pit form in my stomach as she takes 50 points away from the Gryffindor team, we let the Gryffindor team down.
"50?!" my brother questions her as she looks at each and every one of us "Each" I elbow Harry in the stomach for opening his big mouth as we have 200 points now taken off our score instead of just 50. "And to ensure it doesn't happen again, all five of you will receive detention" a smirk starts to tug at my lips as I glance over to Draco.
Malfoy nods, then his smile vanishes instantly her words finally making the cogs in his brain work. "Excuse me, Professor. Perhaps I heard you wrong. I thought you said... 'the five of us?'" He questions thinking he heard her wrong which he did not.
"No, you heard me correctly, Mr Malfoy. You see, as honourable as your intentions were, you too were out of bed after hours. You will serve detention with your classmates." Dracos shoulders sag as he looks our way just for added measures I stick my tongue out at him as he narrows his eyes my way.
The next night Mr Filch appeared ready to lead us to detention out to Hagrid's hut.
"Why has this got to be at night it's cold enough" I mutter mostly to myself as I walk in between Harry and Draco as we all follow Mr Filch down the dirt path as he lights the way with his lamp.
"A pity they let the old punishments die. There was a time detention would find you hanging by your thumbs in the dungeons. God, I miss the screaming." My eyes widen as I move closer to Harry as his hand collapses around my own.
I glance to my side only to see that Harry wasn't standing on my left it was Draco he didn't seem phased that his hand was around my own and just kept looking ahead. I go to pull my hand way, but his grip only tightens not letting go as he slightly gazes my way. Avoiding his gaze I confusingly look at the ground watching my step as we go across the wet dirt track.
