Chapter 20

Off's pov

New semester came, as well as a new chapter of my life. After visiting my family during summer vacation. I always make sure that I can video call with them. I was also glad that I could see my father in the video call too and sometimes he would give me lectures not to do this and that, to eat healthy and stuffs
As for my relationship with Gun, well it became stronger though. After our first night together, ahem, ahm although not always but maybe 1 in 2 weeks we do it in my place. He seemed to be enjoying it compared on our first time. He even wanted to reverse our roles but hell no, there's no way he's gonna make me agree with it

Although I've been so busy with my internship lately that I couldn't see him much. He's also starting to get busy too in school. As a result we just have to be satisfied with calls every night.

However... like for the past week. I couldn't reach him..

I couldn't find time visiting him too due to my busy schedules. And most of the time, I fell asleep after trying to call him so many times. No chats, no emails not even "seen" on my messages. Where the hell is he?

Ahh I can't take this anymore. Tomorrow I'll go to his class to see him.

Off: what? He didn't come to school for a week now?

Sing: yes P. We've been texting him too. But I think he dropped his classes.

Why now Gun. Why now that you're almost graduating. But he isn't someone who won't leave school without a reason. He's very diligent and a role model in his class.

I then went to his house after class. I called the company where I have been doing my internship that I'll be busy with my research and ask to be excused for a day.

I knocked at his house and no one's opening it. It also looks like theres no one inside. My heart started to beat loudly. It's so strange. He didn't leave me right? I mean.. He wouldn't go anywhere without telling me..
Did something happen to him?

Good thing I came up with an idea. I didnt have a number of Gun's mom so I called Tay instead. I asked him to call Gun's mom since they're not at home and gun has been missing his classes for a week.

I've been patiently waiting for Tay to call me again. I sat down for a while feeling nervous. I missed his voice so much. I miss you so much Gun. Where are you?

After awhile my phone rang.
Tay: ai Off? I called auntie. Ahmmm... They're in the hospital right now.

Off: oh. Okay. Is gun with her? Who was brought there?

Tay: ahm. Didn't Gun tell you anything yet?

Off: about what?

Tay: okay listen. Don't freak out okay. I want you to go to the xxx hospital. Go to the male ward and ask for Gun atthaphan's room number OK.

Off: okay. Thank you so much.

I ran as fast as I can. I literally forgot that I have a damn car. I also forgot that I can ride a taxi so that it will be convenient for me. All I know was I was running cause I can't wait to ask him what happened. But I know in my heart I was scared. I'm nervous and scared. I don't know what Tay meant but I know Gun didn't tell me everything about his life yet.

He already told me about his dreams, his wishes and his family. But maybe his hiding something important from me.

As I arrived in the hospital and asked for his room number. I then went inside the public ward, wherein the only thing that separates one patient to the other was a drape.

I was about to open it when I heard a woman crying. I also heard the doctor speaking

Doctor: ma'am it's really necessary to do treatment as soon as possible. As you can see in his result, the primary cancer has increases its diameter. It will be very painful for him. Plus i don't want it to affect his other organs or else he will be in a very bad situation

Gun's mom: I know doc.. I'm so sorry it's my fault. If only we have done it sooner, he wouldn't be in this state.

This is not true right. I mean this must be a wrong room number, and maybe it's another Gun who's in there.

Then the drapes were moved and the doctor went out.

I saw Gun's mom caressing gun's head who was lying on the bed. He was sleeping so soundly. And I couldn't believe it.

His mom saw me then and was crying. She hugged me and said that she's happy that I visited his son.

Off: how long does he have this illness?

Gun's mom: ever since he was young he already had weak bones but he was diagnosed when he entered college. I'm sorry.... If only I have enough money then, I could have treated him sooner... It's all my fault.

Now I remembered Gun saying all those stuffs, about having a weak body and drinking pain reliever. It must have been so hard for him. Damn, why didn't he tell me this? Am I unworthy to know?

Off: auntie. Ahmm this is all I have. Can we start his treatment as soon as possible?

I gave the money I have in my wallet. His mom was hesitant. She said that she won't be accepting money from me. But then I still forced her. His mom already looked so thin and problematic. It will be harder if both of them will get sick.

Off: it's okay auntie. Don't feel bad. Gun is... He's very important to me. I can give you money. I'll help you with the payment.

After agreeing. I looked at Gun who was still sleeping. I so damn miss you, you fool. I haven't forgiven you yet for not saying this to me. But... for now please fight for me and your mom.
We made a promise right? Theres no way you're going to leave me. I won't allow it.

I then held his hand. And kissed his forehead. I love you Gun don't ever leave me.

When I arrived in the company the next day. I then asked my boss if he could allow me again to not finish my 8 hour duty. When I left the company, I was searching for any part time jobs I could find. I have to make money for the treatment.
