My tears flowed down to the floor as I screamed in pain, many questions loom through my mind as I try to suppress the events that happened after the kiss. I looked at Evelyn in a broken manner and crawled back till I hit the wall as I pointed at her and in stutters said

"You...It can't be you......you died in the crash, YOU DIED IN MY ARMS!"

Evelyn showed a face of concern as I stood up and held my head. Am I going insane? Am I seeing things? Am I dead? I don't know what is happening anymore and it showed, I looked at Evelyn and in a frantic rant said.

"You have been dead for 5 months now and you expect me to believe that you've come back? I attended your funeral that day and Wally had to hold me down as they lowered your casket."

My fear was embodied in the fullest extent as her ghost came back to haunt me, nothing was making sense anymore. My mind was telling me to run away but the fear gripped my legs rooting them in place. I could see her slowly making her way towards me as my body slowly froze, I then mustered enough will power to utter the phrase.

"Please don't hurt me, Eve, I didn't kill you!"

She walked slowly towards me as everything around me suddenly got darker and darker. I looked away from her and closed my eyes preparing for the worse to happen, my body tensed up as I braced for impact slowly accepting my fate. I could feel her cold breath brushing against my skin as the hairs on my body stood, the anxiety was killing me and I could feel the scream leaving my mouth until I was greeted by a familiar feeling. I felt warm as her arms wrapped around me followed by the gentle taps on my back. My body didn't know how to respond so my legs gave out and I kneeled. I opened my eyes and wrapped my arms against her body, I let out a sigh of relief as I hugged her even tighter. She then spoke in a calming demeanor.

"Jun, I know that you have a million questions in your head so please let me explain"

I let go of my hug as her arms retreated to her, she sat beside me and held my hand.

"Promise me that you will believe everything I say okay?"

She asked in a soft mellow voice partnered with a comforting grin, I nodded my head and then, she spoke in a calm tone.

"After we kissed, a bright flash of light appeared out of nowhere. It was a truck that destroyed the passenger side of your car"

She held my hand tighter anticipating a violent reaction from me but I was calm. I remembered the therapy I had to undergo and I already accepted the fact that it isn't my fault. After she saw how calm I was, she continued the story.

"Mom and Dad were devastated at the time and my mom couldn't get over the fact that I died, Mom became an alcoholic and ignored her duties in the police force until Dad couldn't handle it anymore. Mom was kicked out of the task force while Dad has custody of my twin brother, Wally."

I can feel the pain in her voice as she tried to hold back her tears, Wally is a good brother and they both treasured each other's company. Their bond as twins were unbreakable and Wally would often date Evelyn's bullies and break their hearts ruthlessly. It didn't ruin Wally's reputation because of his popularity and acting skills who can only be rivaled by Evelyn herself. I held her hand tighter as she looked her at with a comforting face. She looked at me and smiled as she carried on with her story with a less somber tone.

"Mom heard that a witch was living in the slums who can resurrect me but at the cost of another person's life, the sacrifice's soul would wander in this earth as long as the recipient lives. My mother was desperate to see me smile once again so, in the middle of the night, she dug up my corpse and kept me in the witch's house. She then hunted down the head of the crime syndicate and offered his body for mine. The transmutation was complete and I was alive once again, the reason why I have a different body is because mom chose how I would look like when I reincarnated......"

I stopped her in the middle of the sentence to brighten up the mood by replying.

"You look beautiful in your new body, I love it"

Her face turned red and I could see the sparkles in her eyes. She looked down as she held my hand tighter and smiled. She then continued the story with a warmer tone.

"The soul could still influence the physical world so of course, the mob boss told the syndicate to search every nook and cranny in North Tserron just to find us. The syndicate would often shoot the apartments we lived in until Mom couldn't handle it anymore, Mom rejoined the police force so she can earn enough to smuggle me in a crate heading to South Tserron"

She paused for a while and the atmosphere became heavy. Her face didn't reflect the pain she felt inside but I could tell how much she's bracing herself for the words that are about to come out. I held her hand a bit tighter as my other hand caressed her cheek, I looked at her with a warm reassuring face and smiled as I gently place my finger over her lips. I then spoke in a careful demeanor.

"You don't need to tell me what happened, I can already piece out how you ended up in that sack"

I stood up and extended my hand and as soon as she took it, I pulled her towards me into a warm embrace. I could feel our hearts in sync with each other as her arms wrap around my body, I then whispered into her ear.

"Welcome back Eve"
