Chapter 8: Evelyn in their eyes part 4e Piatrice

I'm inside my dream and there she stood parallel to me. I was wearing my pajamas when I went into my dream and so was she. Her powers could now reach my dreams and I wonder if she is a figment of my imagination or she breached my mind. Her power is odd, it used to be one dimensional wherein I could hear her thoughts but she couldn't hear mine. I need to ask her something that I don't know so I thought about something that I could never think of and asked her.

"Can you tell me more about Pia?"

She smiled at me as she dragged my hand upstairs and into my room. She opened the AC and sat on the bed while she motioned me to lay on her lap. I laid by her lap while she played with my hair as she spoke.

"Which part did we stop?"

"The 2nd year I think?"

"Okay then, Pia was bullied heavily by everyone and when C started to be bullied because of his association with Pia, he bullied Pia as well. He manipulated Pia into thinking that they were still friends but in reality, she was just stepping stone for C."

"I kept talking to her in 2nd year until she stopped playing FOP. 2 weeks passed and I decided to confront her in her section. I saw her in the corner of the room while C was talking to his newfound friends. I called out her name but when she looked at me, her eyes were drained. She wasn't smiling and she felt miserable."

"She didn't want to speak to me and continued to write on her journal while C blocked me and even made fun of me for talking to her. Everyone laughed at me and I was ashamed but I pushed through and walked towards her. C kept teasing me but I wasn't going to let him get to me until he threw a plastic bottle at me and called me awful names."

"News made rounds that C was bullying me and after 3 days, his entire section turned on him for bullying me. He retreated to Pia where he continued to treat her even less. I tried to talk to her in private whenever C was not around but Pia was not talking. She shut herself out, even to me and I felt hurt that she did. She disregarded me for C and I couldn't stand the betrayal."

"I didn't talk to her for the remaining 2nd year of high school and I forgot about her. 3rd year came and while I was playing FOP, she messaged me. 'How do I make a boy fall for me?' I was confused."

Evelyn giggled and played with my hair more. She had a smile on her face that was very adorable. Her cheeks turned red and butterflies started to fly away from her. She was startled when the butterflies appeared out of nowhere. I stood up and spoke to her in an amazed tone.

"You can control my dream?"

"Huh?"

"Butterflies? That's something that you would do."

"Not really, it's something Pia would love."

"But were you thinking about butterflies?"

"No......this must be your sub-conscience doing this."

"I guess so."

After the butterflies dissipated from the room, Evelyn went back to the bed while I laid on her lap once more as her tone became more joyful.

"At first, I thought it was for C so I told her to just leave the man but she then replied 'It's my seatmate.' I immediately typed a lot of tips and tried to guess who it was. I had a lot of friends in her section and I messaged all of them."

"You already know who he is. I confronted her during break time while C was not around. I told Pia that I knew who he was and I could see her hair turn white. Blood rushed to her cheeks and she looked away from me and denied everything. Her denial was very cute and it was the first time that I've seen this part of Pia. We caught up on that break time and I was happy that she started to open up."

"Rai managed to get Pia to talk and open up to him. Pia was very shy but slowly opened up to him whenever she got the time to do so. I saw her eyes started to have colour again and for the first time, I saw a genuine smile whenever she talked about Rai. It fills my heart to see her so free with her decisions."

A rainbow then enveloped the sky as the words came out of her mouth and Evelyn laughed at me. I sat up and gave her a puzzled look before she spoke.

"A rainbow? So you are gay for Rai"

We both laughed as the rainbow started to disappear and I explained my thoughts.

"You said 'Rai brought colour into Pia's life' so my sub-conscience thought of a rainbow."

"Pfft, Suuuuuuuure"

She continued her story while sitting parallel to me. She had a more upbeat tone while she spoke.

"You might have heard of the suspension given to Rai and this is how it happened. C caught Pia talking to Rai and was furious. Pia didn't attend school for 3 days and stopped talking to me in FOP. After she came back, she had bruises all over her and when she was questioned, she would say that she tripped."

"No one bought the story and speculations started to arise. Rumors started that she was abused by a teacher. People started to talk to C and gave him encouraging words as he acted surprised by the incident. Rai offered to help her but Pia dismissed his kind nature and accused him of beating her. His class hated him for that  and while some of our batch mates sided with Rai , the majority was on C's side."

"C confronted Rai after class and beat him up in Pia's section. Others cheered and others tried to get the teachers involved but it as clear that Rai couldn't fight. Rai had a black eye and bleeding lips but he did not fight back. The days that followed saw C constantly beating Rai up and no one cared. It was until C announced to everyone that Pia was his and kissed her in front of Rai. Rai did not hold back and punched C square in the face. He did not want it to be an unfair fight so he gave him a moment to stand up before Rai broke his arm, gave him 2 black eyes, concussed him, and locked in a triangular choke."

"The teachers saw what happened and immediately called up both of their parents. Everyone was outside the principal's office as everyone had their lawyers ready. C's parents were about to sue Rai's parents and called Pia as a witness. It was this that broke Pia and confessed that she was beaten by C and that C was constantly harassing her. After news broke of that, Rai was suspended for a week while C was expelled."

Everything started to shake and I grabbed Evelyn and ducked. My sub-conscience was too strong and something action-packed was about to happen. Evelyn, in a worried tone, asked me.

"Earthquake?"

"Much worse. War"

"Oh....Jun What do we do?"

Gunfire started to echo through the room as bullets burst from the wall while I dragged Evelyn under the bed to dodge the incoming attack. Evelyn started to literally melt in my arms as I struggled to hold her. I was shaking and nothing made sense until I closed my eyes. I screamed while I woke up in the van as Rai was parking. He stopped the car and looked at me while Evelyn hugged me tight. Pia then asked,

"Jun are you okay? We're at the resort."

My heart was racing and adrenaline coursed through my veins as Evelyn hugged me tighter. She then sent me a transmission

"You're safe now Jun..."
