Chapter 7: Subtle Recollection Part 3

I must have dozed off for a long time by how little light pierced through my window. I felt the bed become bigger but then I realized that something was missing. I saw the clock read 4:30 PM as I went downstairs to try and find Evelyn. I was met with cheery laughs as I saw Raizen and Piatrice talking to Evelyn by the table while she ate. I smiled at the sight of old friends recollecting around the table but quickly realized that Justin and Anne might talk badly of Evelyn. I went to the table and Raizen took notice of me, he smiled and said.

"Hey Jun, I hope you don't mind but we took the liberty of introducing ourselves to Ashley"

As soon as Raizen stopped speaking, I heard a transmission from Evelyn

"I go by Ashley to them. Call me Ash, it sounds cute"

I chuckled slightly as the transmission came. I still want to know the whereabouts of Anne and Justin without ruining the mood for them. I followed up on what Raizen said by asking.

"Just the 2 of you? Where's Anne and Justin?"

Piatrice and Raizen looked at each other and laughed before Piatrice responded.

"They took the Bus and went around the island."

Raizen was quick to respond with a witty remark

"Really? Aww that's so sweet"

Evelyn spat out the water she was drinking and shouted

"THEY"RE GOING OUT TOGETHER?"

Piatrice and Raizen gave Evelyn an awkward look as her face became red. She then gathered herself and responded.

"I mean, I think the girl is way out of his league"

Piatrice and Raizen both erupted in laughter as Evelyn went back to eating while giving me a transmission

"I thought they were dating. Justin is finally getting Anne. That's so sweet"

After Piatrice laughed, she looked at Evelyn while saying in a semi-joking manner

"I wish Raizen would tour me around the island but then I realized that he probably won't remember which pedal is the brake"

Raizen was quick to respond with a charming demeanor

"Hey, I may forget a lot of things but one thing I'll always remember is the fact that I love you"

Raizen then stood up and hugged Piatrice as she looked away from him and saying.

"Tch. Stop embarrassing Raizen"

Raizen hugged her tighter and said in a cute voice

"I know you like when I do this"

Evelyn laughed at how much Piatrice is failing to keep her annoyed face at Raizen as he hugged her tighter. She was finished eating after the exchanges and went to the sink as Raizen let go of his hug and tapped my shoulder as he spoke.

"Hey Jun, you got a minute? I want to talk to you"

Piatrice and Evelyn stood up from the table and went to the sink as Raizen signaled me to follow him. I then remembered that Anne probably segregated her clothes from Evelyn's so I responded with

"I'll take Evelyn's clothes from Anne's room first."

Raizen had already swung the door half-open when I made my remark. He looked at me nodded as he said

"Okay, I will wait for you by the pier"

I went by the corridor of Anne's room and found the clothes neatly folded under a blanket wit ha note on top. I took out the note and read it

"Just wrap the blanket around to carry them all in one go

-Anne"

Even though Anne is a klutz, she always tries to make things easier for all of us. I gently wrapped the blanket around her clothes and carried it upstairs to my room. I peeked out the window to find Raizen smoking once again. I thought that he stopped that vice after he found Pia but I guess old habits die hard. I heard a knock on the door followed by the door swinging open with Piatrice and Evelyn on the other side. Evelyn took notice of the clothes wrapped around the blanket as Piatrice looked outside my window. She then looked away from the window and helped Evelyn with her clothes as she told me in an angered tone

"Tch..that idiot is smoking again. Jun, please take away his cigarettes when you meet him. I'm going to give him an earful after you're done talking to him"

I felt Piatrice's cold gaze avert the window as her face changed to give a warm one to Evelyn. Piatrice's demeanor scares me and I think I already know what Raizen wants to talk about.
