After a few minutes of crying, she finally told me what happened between them. The way she told her story was exactly how I saw in her thoughts. She didn't have any problem exposing how wrong she was in the fight. The problem with their fight is the fact that they let things go out of hand. The problem was Rai's story but it branched out to Rai's cigarette problem and Pia regretting the relationship.
I never thought that Pia would be the type of person who would berate their partner but secretly love them. I guess it got too out of hand and Rai had enough of it. It wouldn't make sense though, I detected that she was just pretending to be mad. Surely someone like Rai would immediately detect that as well. Maybe the pressure got to him and he couldn't take it anymore. She then spoke to me in a sad tone with audible sobs.
"Did I take it too far? *sniffles* I just wanted him to care about me. I *sniffles* I *sniffles* I didn't want to push him away. I just wanted to tell him to calm down, he could always write tomorrow"
She looked like a mess while she sobbed on my shoulder. I gently pat her back as I spoke back to her calmly.
"You didn't know how much the story meant to Rai, It's okay to make mistakes here and there and I am sure that you meant no harm. Rai loves you so much and I think, you should talk this out. The problem was his story, he made it clear that his last smoke was for Jun so I don't think he will smoke anymore.
After pouring her heart out to me, she spoke with a defeated tone.
"It's okay for Rai to lose me because he has everyone. Rai is everything to me. Rai has friends and I lost the only one I had. If me and Rai didn't work out. I would become lonely."
I hugged her tightly while patting her back as I spoke to her calmly.
"Pia. I'm sure that Rai's friends are yours as well. They are going to see your side of the story and try to calm you down. Even if the relationship is finished, I am sure that they will still be your friends and even if they aren't, I'm still here for you."
She calmed down in my shoulders as I heard a knock in the door. I slowly pulled away from the embrace while Pia laid on the bed and calmed herself down. I gripped the doorknob firmly and opened the door to see Anne on the other side. She had two plates with bacon and eggs in her hands. Anne looked concerned as she handed me her plate. She then spoke confidently.
"Hey Pia, I brought you bacon and eggs."
She approached her slowly and placed her hand on her back while talking to her in a comforting manner.
"I don't know how to cook so please forgive me if it tastes bland."
She then went back downstairs and closed the door in a hurry. Pia picked up her fork and tasted the bacon. She gave a light chuckle while speaking.
"She forgot to add salt."
I went next to her and ate breakfast as she jokingly judged Anne's cooking. She had a heartwarming smile and a joyous attitude as she ate. After eating, she spoke.
"I guess his friends do care about me. I'm glad"
She then looked at me and smiled while she told me.
"And if not, at least I have you."
I could feel my cheeks turn red as I smiled back at her. I then heard a knock on the door followed by the door swinging open. Anne calmly asked to meet me outside so I did. She then calmly talked to me.
"Rai wants to talk to Pia after lunch. His anxiety got the best of him and he wants to apologize. How about Pia's side?"
"She's willing to talk as well."
Anne sighed as we both went downstairs to cook for the four of us. It was lunchtime and it's a good thing that we isolated Jun and Justin from them but I couldn't shake the feeling that it wasn't necessary. Anne looked uneasy when preparing the dishes and she's giving a shakey aura. It seems like Anne wants to accomplish something without the two men.
