Chapter 7: Subtle Recollection Part 2

She didn't hide the pain etched in her face as she spoke. I figured that she might be too exhausted to act or genuine in her approach but the defining aspect of Evelyn is the fact that she can get answers by hiding it under a cute face. The way her eyes affix their gaze towards mine shows that she wasn't trying to hide the pain where if she was trying to get an answer, she would normally hide her face. I spoke in a calm manner

"I'm still shocked to this day. Everything just moved so fast, 2 days ago I found you in the pier and then I went back and reaffirmed my feelings for you and now, I'm not sure if we are dating or not. You suddenly came into my life and everything changed but one thing I 'm sure of is the fact that I still love you."

She went silent and ducked her head, I approached her calmly and caressed her cheek gently as I looked at her eyes. Evelyn smiled at me as she took my hand away. She then laid on the bed and took a rest whilst transmitting her message

"I'm going to take a light nap, you should probably help Anne downstairs. You know how much of a klutz she is"

I gave her a chuckle before exiting the room. A delicious scent wafts through the air as I went downstairs. I went towards the kitchen to see Piatrice and Raizen cooking. Raizen was struggling to cook alongside Piatrice so he is tasked with dicing the garlic while Piatrice cooked the rice. I then spoke to Piatrice

"I see you've taken over my kitchen"

She replied

"Well, Everything in your kitchen was organized unlike this oaf's kitchen"

Raizen handed the diced garlic to Piatrice and chuckled while responding

"Hey Babe, it might be a bit messy but I do know where everything is"

Piatrice raised the fire of the stove as she flipped the rice through the air whilst replying in an annoyed tone

"That explains how you lost my garlic spice"

Raizen laughed it off as he hugged Piatrice while she turned off the stove. She pushed him away and replied

"You're so disgusting Raizen"

And without missing a beat, Raizen replied

"And that's why you love me, Pia"

He then pecked Piatrice's cheek as she denied his affection whilst cradled in his arms. I could see Piatrice's cheek blush a little even though she denies it. The dynamic between Raizen's sweet demeanor and Piatrice's stoic nature is funny at times and no matter how much Piatrice pushes him away, we all know that she deeply loves Raizen. I left them to their devices as I made my way to Anne's room.

I knocked on the door and asked if I can enter but I was met with a thud. I opened the door immediately to Anne laying down on the floor while holding her head. I chuckled a bit and asked.

"Are you okay? You were reaching for the top shelf weren't you?"

I extended my hand pulled her up as she punched me lightly in the shoulders and replied

"You know, I hate you. You purposefully gave me this room to tease my height"

I laughed at her as she continued to pout. It didn't come to mind that Anne would struggle with the top shelf since there are shelves that are within her reach. I asked her.

"Why don't you just use the cabinet's bottom shelves?"

She was quick to reply

"Because your sister has a lot of clothes. She has good taste in fashion by the way"

It had slipped my mind that Evelyn's clothes were still in the cabinets. My sister may have had a few of her clothes in the cabinet but it wasn't going to take up all the space. I then spoke to Anne

"Can you sort your clothes out? I'll take my sister's clothes after you're done"

I walked out of the room to give her some privacy when Raizen shouted through the corridor

"Lunch is ready!"

I instinctively went upstairs to see if Evelyn was awake while Justin and Anne made their way to the dinner table. I opened the door to my room and was greeted with Evelyn's soft sighs. I turned on the AC and covered her in a blanket before going downstairs to meet with my friends. The rectangular table was set up and we all took our seats. Raizen then asked

"Hey, where's your girlfriend?"

I responded

"She's sleeping upstairs. She's been up all night cleaning Justin's room just leave some for her so she has something to eat when she wakes up"

Piatrice allocated rice on our plates while Anne started the prayer. After praying, we all began to eat. Justin then noticed something, he stopped eating and said

"Hey Pia, you brought out 2 extra plates"

Pia stopped eating and responded

"Did I? Huh, I guess I'm not used to us being incomplete"

It puts a smile in my face that they still acknowledged Evelyn even though she's gone. I smiled to Pia and spoke

"Aww, That's so sweet of you. You remember Eve"

The table went silent as they all looked at each other. After a brief pause, they laughed. Justin then spoke

"She was referring to Wally haha. Are you still not over Eve?"

I laughed to dismiss Justin as I continued to eat. It caught me off guard a bit since I forgot Wally. I then shied away from them and continued eating. How could I have forgotten Wally? It dawned on me that they were already over Eve. I was happy to inform Eve that they wouldn't be shocked if she came out. After eating lunch, Justin asked me.

"Hey Jun, I thought you were over Eve. I mean, you do have a girlfriend now. Why did she come to mind?"

I calmly responded

"Well, Eve never really left in my heart"

Raizen quickly replied

"Your heart? I thought  she was chasing you hahaha"

Anne quickly dismissed Raizen's laugh by commenting

"You know, Eve damaged you a lot more than you think"

My heart sank as the words left Anne's mouth. Before I could dismiss her, Justin added

"You were so head over heels for her that you forgot we existed Jun. Honestly, I would be okay if it was 'give and take' but it seemed like it was 'take and take' from her side. To add insult to injury, she liked Ace"

Raizen was quick to defuse the situation by saying,

"Now Now Justin. We all had our mistakes, remember the time you were head over heels for Anne? You followed her like a creep whenever it was break time"

Anne laughed at Justin as she collected the dishes while Piatrice waited for her by the sink. It didn't occur to me that I was so out of touch with reality whenever I was with Evelyn. It breaks my heart to find out that Justin and Anne didn't like Eve but at least, Piatrice and Raizen are on my side. I have to break the news to Evelyn as soon as she wakes up but the question is, how do I deliver it gently? I walked upstairs into my room and nuzzled with Evelyn under the blanket as I figured out how to break it to her.
