I let go of my hug and pulled out my handkerchief to wipe Evelyn's tears off her face. I looked behind me to check on Piatrice once again and I couldn't see her. I assumed that she must have gone to the bathroom so I asked Evelyn in a careful tone.
"So Ash, How are you close to Pia?"
She sipped her coffee once again and looked at me with a composed look before placing the hot mug down and speaking in a hurt tone.
"Me and Pia were best friends before I entered high school. We were classmates in the 6th grade and I treated her like a sister. She came from a broken family and had an abusive friend who would often break her mentally. Let's name her friend C. C would often restrict her from making friends and claim her as his. This caused everyone in grade school to hate her and the only reason why she transferred schools was because C told her to do so."
Evelyn looked behind to make sure that Piatrice wasn't eavesdropping on us. I looked back as well and found the group talking with each other once again with Piatrice glancing at us from time to time. Evelyn smiled warmly at her and gave her a thumbs-up before continuing in a calmer tone.
" I met her online in 5th grade when we were playing this game called 'FOP' or 'The Fall Of Pride' she was a very good support and we would often grind together on voice chat. She sounded familiar and I traced her voice until I found her sitting next to C. C was very insecure and the moment I said hi to Pia, C instantly questioned me"
"C said something along the lines of 'How do you know Pia?', 'Pia is my best friend and I know that you will just break her so go away.' C was a jerk so I didn't tell him that we met in a game. I could see it in her eyes that Pia wasn't happy with C so we had a secret friendship. We talked on FOP constantly and that's how I knew that she was transferring schools."
"She was very smart and would often net top honors in her class but since She was classmates with C, she would take 2nd place on purpose because C told her to do so. I know deep down that C could never achieve the things Pia could do. C didn't want to be in second place and seeing as how Pia was a loner, he took advantage of it. He befriended her, destroyed her, and made her bow to his every whim."
Evelyn clenched her fist and said angrily.
"I wanted to punch C so I followed her in high school. We still talked on FOP but since she didn't know that I was in the same high school as her, I stalked her secretly. We had over ten sections so I was certain that she wouldn't see me. What I didn't expect was that I became popular."
Evelyn slowly unclenched her fist and held my hand as she said the next statements.
"I couldn't hide the fact that I was popular so everyone in the batch instantly knew who I was. It reached her and it reached C. C was not happy that I came along so he enforced his rules even harder. In the 2nd year, she pretended to be mute even though everyone knows she can talk. Everyone thought that she was a snob and bullied her but not C."
Evelyn exhaled through her nose and inhaled as she looked back once again and found that the group's drinks were empty sat there, waiting for us to finish. She went back to me and said.
"We should go, I don't want them to wait up for us. I'll talk to you soon when we reach that resort.
I looked at the group and waved them to come to the balcony as I hurriedly gulped my cold coffee. I felt weird for a second as caffeine rushed through my veins. They opened the doors to the balcony and I saw Piatrice sprint towards Evelyn and hugged her. Evelyn thanked Piatrice as she gently pulled away from the hug while I spoke to the group.
"Hey let's all take a picture. The sea looks amazing from here."
We all took pictures by the balcony as I tried my best to calm Justin down by distracting him with short conversations. After we took our pictures, we decided to head back to our cars and when I sat on the driver's seat. I suddenly felt drowsy. I knew it was going to be a bad idea for me to drive so I talked to Raizen.
"Hey Rai, Is it okay that you drive?"
                              "Huh? Why?"
                              "I feel very sleepy."
                              "Because of coffee?"
                              "Yeah...."
"Ah right, you're one of those people. Okay but I don't know where to go."
"It's an hour drive from here. Just drive straight and look for the 'Serenity Resort' sign. It should be on the left side"
Raizen nodded his as I tossed the keys to him. Before Raizen could drive, Evelyn suggested that she let me sleep on her lap in the middle seat so they didn't have to move the bags from the back. Piatrice slapped her head and looked at Raizen while exclaiming.
"You idiot, why didn't you think of that? We would have had an easier time placing the bags on the back of the van and you could have slept on my lap."
Raizen kept his smug demeanor while retorting.
"I didn't want to make you blush while Jun was driving."
Piatrice blushed for a bit before going to the passenger seat while Evelyn sat in the middle seat while I laid my head on her lap. I felt drowsy as the van moved and I slept soon after. I opened my eyes and saw myself in the house once again. I was aware that I was dreaming so I decided to try and control my dream. I tried to imagine a jetski so I can ride the beach but as I tried to do so, I heard a voice from behind me.
                              "I did it......I didn't think I can but I'm inside you dream...."
I turned around and there Evelyn stood.
