A few days later
"So...I gotta address the elephant in the room..." Jisung started out
"What's he doing here!?" Jisung pointed at a sheepish Hyunjin
They were all out in the garden of their school while waiting for everyone to arrive to school. Only Seungmin was left to arrive.
"Jisungie..you're being rude " Chan says
"But he's been following us around like some stray dog for these past days that Seungmin's been absent" Jisung says
"I can't help it! I miss Seungminnie" Hyunjin whines out
"Aawwww... they have nicknames for each other now...that's disgustingly sweet" Changbin says
"Shut up... You'd be the same with Felix " Minho says
"You don't have to expose me you old cat lady!"
"And what will you do about it,pizza-head?"
"Okay kids, break it up! No fighting!" Woojin intervenes
"By the way hyung, will Seungmin-hyung really come today?" Jeongin asks
""Well he did text me that he'll come to school today" Hyunjin says
"Eh- they're already texting" Jisung teases Hyunjin
"Shut up squirrel"
"I'm not a squirrel you llama!"
"You're annoying"
"No, you're annoying"
"Yah! Don't you dare start another fight" Chan warns them
"But hyung! He started it first!" Both of them say pointing at each other
"Hey guys! Sorry I'm late.. I had to help my dad out with some stuff.." Seungmin says finally arriving
"Uh...why are Hyunjin and Jisungie glaring at each other like that?"
"They're being kids and arguing with each other" Jeongin, ever the helpful soul supplies
"Hyunjinnie,you're not supposed to fight! Especially with my friends!" Seungmin says unconsciously pouting.
"Alright! Anything for you sunshine!" Hyunjin smiles brightly at Seungmin.
"Good boy!" Seungmin says and shyly reaches out to ruffle Hyunjin's hair
"Okay...now that's adorable" Minho comments pointing towards the Seungjin couple
"I agree" Felix says
"My my...our Seungminnie has grown so confident..I think Hyunjin's a good influence for him" Woojin says
"Yep.. definitely.. the kid is going to be good for our little puppy" Chan adds on .
"C'mon lovebirds! We can't be late for class" Jisung shouts out making Seungmin and Hyunjin blush.
"Jisungie!!" Seungmin whines out
Everyone laughs at that and goes to their own classrooms leaving Seungmin and Hyunjin.
Seungmin reaches out and grabs onto Hyunjin's sleeve .
"Is something wrong sunshine?"
"Um... thanks for the hoodies Hyunjinnie... I'll return them to you after I wash them"
"Nah it's okay..you can keep them..just return them to me when the scent fades out .. I'll rescent them for you"
"O-okay...thanks Hyunjinnie"
"Anything for you sunshine.. c'mon..I'll drop you till your classroom"
"You don't have to..I can go on my own "
"Nope..not on my watch. I'm not going to let you go into that room full of jerks all on your own"
"Thanks Hyunjinnie" .
"Why are you always thanking me or apologising to me?"
"Sorry I-"
"There you go again.. Seungminnie, do you know why not just me but everyone of our friends wants to protect you?"
Seungmin shook his head at that
"Because you're so precious. You're such a kind and adorable person and we just want to protect you from being hurt . So please I want you to stop degrading yourself and denying yourself happiness.. alright? Because you deserve every single good thing in the world and I just want you to realize that you deserve the best"
Seungmin didn't know how to feel about the things Hyunjin was saying. These past years,he'd only received harsh words from his bullies and now,when he was being treated right,he didn't know if he even deserved it.
"I know you feel as though you're a burden...but each one of us just want you to be happy...and we want you to fight for your own happiness too..so please..don't deny yourself of your happiness okay?"
"I'll try..."
"And that's all I want from you sunshine.." Hyunjin says softly caressing Seungmin's cheeks
"Now come on! As much as I love spending time with you,I don't want to hear my teacher's nagging"
Seungmin laughed at that with his eyes crinkling and his cute little teeth showing. And Hyunjin swears,he never saw someone more beautiful in his life.
"Hey Hyunjinnie..can we go somewhere after school today?"
"Where?"
"Anywhere you like...I just want to spend time with you if you'd like"
"So...like a date?"
"Well...is it? I mean...uh..."
"If it's not a date,what is it? A friendly meeting of two people who are meant to be with each other?" Hyunjin deadpans
"Okay fine it's a date!"
"That's what you should have said from the very start! Okay! Now I can't wait for classes to be over !!!" Hyunjin says while grabbing Seungmin's hand and dragging him to his class.
And Seungmin? Well...he just wanted to enjoy the warmth of Hyunjin's hands for as long as he could.
