" Yes!" I smiled as he stood up with a huge smile of his own, he kissed me deeply making Dumbledore break us up. " Love is a beautiful thing for young people, but please not in the classroom" he smirked at us before dismissing the lesson. I sat in my usual seat in potions, Lily to my left, Tom to my right and Snape across from me. Slughorn told us to break into partners " Odette, will you be my partner?" Snape asked catching me off guard " Sure". I swapped seats with Lily, neither her or Tom were happy but they did their work in silence. " I wanted to ask you something" Snape whispered to me, I nodded as he leaned in close to my ear " How do I ask Lily to the dance?" " I'm not too sure Severus, I think she may have been asked already" I whispered back " By who?". On cue the door to our potions class burst open to reveal the boys, Remus playing an instrument while Sirius was holding a sign. James came over to our table and grabbed Lily " Lily my love, will you be my date to the dance?" " Yes!" She said jumping into his arms " James" I said back to Snape.

That weekend Lily, Molly and myself got up early to go dress shopping. I looked out at the weather and shivered " Uh Lily, do you mind if I borrow some clothes? I don't have any that will keep me warm in that snow" " Take whatever you want, but you really need to tell your dad you need jumpers and jeans, you'll freeze if you keep going out in them skirts". I borrowed some terminal black leggings and a maroon jumper, adding my own black boots to the look, I did my usual natural make up, giving my hair a quick brush before grabbing my coat, hat and scarf before heading to breakfast. I sat down at our table and smiled at the boys " You girls want us to come with you?" Sirius asked us " No way, you aren't seeing our dresses before the dance" Molly shouted " It's meant to be special when you see us for the first time" Lily added. " Anyway who are you guys going with?" I asked " Well I'm going with James" " I'm going with Arthur Weasley" Molly smiled " I'm going with Alice Keen from Hufflepuff" Sirius said " And I'm going with Penny Harth from Ravenclaw" Remus smiled.

" What about you Peter?" I asked " Have you asked anyone yet?" " I..uh I was actually going to ask you" Peter said to me, catching me off guard completely. " I-uh" " Since neither of us have dates and your the most beautiful girl I know" " Uh-" I was cut off " Not happening rat boy" Tom said from behind me. Peter lowered himself as Tom stared him down " I made it quite clear to the school that Odette was mine, so don't make me repeat myself" he kissed my forehead before walking to his table. We all stayed quiet for a moment " Uh, we should go. We'll see you guys back in the common room later" " Alright have fun girls" Sirius waved to us before we left. " Should I apologise to him?" I asked " It wasn't you who said anything to him, if anything Tom should apologise" " Yeah like Tom would ever do that" I laughed with my best friends as we made our way into Hogsmead.

We went straight to the gown shop to look at all the beautiful dresses, I searched through the racks with Lily and Molly, helping them find their dresses first. Molly round a beautiful dark pink gown while Lily found a lovely emerald one. I on the other hand was still searching, I had tried on many dresses but none made me feel special, it was almost closing time when my eyes landed on it. I grabbed the dress from the rack and tried it on, I couldn't stop smiling at my reflection, this was my dress. After we purchased our dresses and shoes we were laughing as we walked through the halls of Hogwarts. " Oi! Evans" I turned around to see Jason and two other Slytherins I didn't know coming up to us, the two grabbed Lily and Molly holding them tight by the arms. " What the hell is wrong with you let them go!" " Shut your mouth you tramp".

" Excuse me" " You heard me, what game are you playing? Do you not understand how important our club is?" I groaned " Are you serious? Your coming at me because of Tom again? He already told you to back off" " He's got a big future ahead of him, that will help a lot of us including me so if your not strong enough for him I have no choice but to get rid of you". " Your not serious? We're sixteen" Jason took his wand out but before he could mutter a spell I took my wand out and pointed my wand at him " Flipendo" I knocked him over, earning a growl from him " You think silly spells will work on me Evans?" " I think it'll help me beat you as long as I'm faster. Or you could stop being stupid and put the wand down" " Expelliarmus!" I quickly blocked his spell " I'm giving you one last chance Jason, stand down or you'll be sorry" I warmed him, he lifted his wand and I quickly spat out " Petrificus Totalus!".

Jason seized up and dropped to the floor, before the other two Slytherins could get away I turned my wand on them " Immobulus!". " Are you two alright?" I asked and they nodded, a few seconds later everyone came down for dinner but stopped at the scene before them " What do you think your doing?" A student said before Dumbledore and Head Master Dippit stepped forward " Explain yourself Ms. Evans" " Sir I was only protecting myself. We just bought our dresses for the ball and Jason came up to us with these two boys and threatened us. Jason took his wand out on me and I froze him and the other two before they could hurt us" I explained. " It's true professor, Jason pulled his wand out first" Lily said and they nodded, " We shall be speaking soon everyone to dinner" Dumbledore unfroze the trio before we all made our way to dinner.
