Fourteen

As my father had promised, Tom stayed with us as he grew followers and spread his message of evil. It was beginning to worry me as Tom was starting to become very controlling when it came to me being around other people. Of course my parents and brothers followed Tom with no questions asked, as did many of his followers ha gained. It's been almost a year since our Hogwarts graduation and Tom won't let me visit any of my friends, not even let me write a single letter. " I've told you before you don't need them!" " They're my friends Tom! If I want to spend time with them then I can! You have no control over my life!". I gasped as Tom grabbed my neck " Are you sure about that my sweet Odette?" I stared at Tom in fright " You forget your place" " I have no place, this is my home, my family, my friends and my life. I will not let you ruin it like you ruined my school life".

Tom glared at me " Ruined it? If it wasn't for me you'd be stuck in a dead job with horrible friends and nobody to love you" " That's not true! My family loves me, my friends love me" " And where are your so called friends now?". I pushed Tom away from me " I'm done" I said as I pulled my engagement ring off " I'm not going to let you control me anymore" I placed the ring on our bed before running out the door. " Odette!!!!" Tom screamed after me as I grabbed my wand and some floo powder " Diagon Alley" I said and disappeared. I fell out of the fireplace and quickly looked around to where I was, the leaky cauldron wasn't far from here.

I quickly made my way through the hundreds of people and burst through the door of the pub. I looked around and there I found my old friends, they all stared at me in shock as I ran over and wrapped my arms tight around Sirius. I let out sobs as he held me back just as tight " My god Odette" Sirius said pulling away from me " I thought you were dead" he said stroking my tear stained cheeks. " He's so controlling, he takes my wand and he doesn't let me be alone with anyone. I can't even be with my brothers without him screaming at me". " Odette" Remus said pulling me into a hug " Your seriously going to marry him?" " No!" I shouted " No, I won't be with him anymore. He's ruining my life" " Come on, everyone is staying at my house for a few days. Join us" Sirius said and I nodded " I'd love to".

We all apparated back to Sirius' home, I showered and changed into fresh pyjamas before walking downstairs and stopping at the door. " James?!" " No I'm serious, how do we know this is real? He's becoming an evil dark wizard how do we know she's telling the truth?" " Because she's our friend" Sirius spoke up. " Friend? We all know you want more than that Black" " So what if I do Potter? She's been my best friend since we were kids and I know that snake is hurting her. I won't turn my back to her this time". " I'm sorry, I didn't know you didn't trust me" I said as I slowly walked into the room " I know I betrayed you in school and that I deeply regret. But I'm not the same stupid girl anymore, I've seen how Tom really is now and I'm scared for my life back home" I said as tears started to pour down my pale cheeks.

" I-I didn't know you would feel this way about me. So if it's what you want I'll leave" " No!" Sirius shouted as he stood up " Don't leave, Odette ignore James as usual he's putting worries before anything else". " He's right, Tom is becoming a cruel and evil man, and I'm sorry I didn't stop him", " Odette I meant nothing by it I'm sorry I'm just scared to what could happen" " I know James, believe me I'm terrified at what Tom can do". I stopped talking when Sirius' brother came into the room " Odette! There you are I've been looking everywhere for you" my eyes went wide as I walked backwards " You stay away from me". " Odette you've known Regulus for years, he won't hurt you".

They didn't know!, " No Sirius no" I cried as Regulus took my arms " Look at you, your just as pretty as the last time I saw you". I was shaking like a leaf by now, he's come to take me back to him " Come on let's take a walk" " No, Sirius please don't let him take me". Lily was looking at me extremely worried " Regulus let her go" she finally spoke up " Lily it's fine" " No it's not, look at her Sirius she's shaking, why would she be so scared of him if she wasn't in danger?". Regulus laughed " How is she possibly in danger with me?" " Because you work for Tom!" I shouted making everyone silent " What?!" Sirius shouted " You really are a brat, what the dark lord sees in you I'll never know".

" Sorry brother" Regulus pulled out his wand and pointed it at my friends " But the dark lord needs his bride back. Petrificus Totalus!" He shouted causing everyone to freeze and drop to the floor. Regulus turned to me " No Reg please, you've known me since we were kids please don't take me back to him". " I do what he wishes" " What about me! You used to say I was like your sister, your willingly going to hand me over to him after everything he's done!" " It's either hand you over or watch my family die Odette!". I froze in shock as tears were pouring out of my eyes " I'm sorry but I have no choice" I nodded " Let me say goodbye" he nodded and let me go as I walked over to my frozen friends.

I said goodbye to each one of them before stopping at Sirius " Thank you so much for being the bestest friend any girl could ask for Sirius. I love you" I said as I gently pressed my lips to his. Regulus grabbed my arm and within the blink of an eye I was back in my home, with a very angry Tom standing in front of me. " Tom I-" I stopped as he slapped me " Save your words, Bellatrix bring her upstairs and get her ready she has an hour or else" " Yes sir". Bellatrix dragged me upstairs only room and pinned me to the wall " What kind of idiot are you? You really thought you could escape from the great dark lord?" " I tried, I'll know not to again" " Oh you will, looky what he has for you". I turned my head to where she was pointing her wand and gasped as my eyes fell on the dress " Tonight's the night sweetie, best not to keep the groom waiting" she whispered in my ear before laughing, I couldn't help as I stared at the dress, no. Now I can never escape.
