Eight

After dinner I was sitting in the courtyard with Tom and explained what happened, he looked at me with a small smirk " What are you smirking at?" " You'll get mad if I tell you" " Tell me what?" " I'm the one who told Jason to duel you, I wanted to see how smart you were" I groaned and grabbed my head " Why are you so weird and cruel?". Tom laughed " It's in my nature, I have a plan for my future. A well thought out plan that I want you to be a part of, I just needed to know something first" " Did you find out?" " Yes I did, and I'm satisfied with the answer" he smiled at me. The morning of the ball I met up with Tom in the courtyard " Why did you want to meet so early? The ball is tonight and I need all the beauty sleep I can get" I stated making him chuckle " Trust me my dear Odette, beauty sleep is something you definitely don't need, and I wanted you to be a part of this".

He brought me down the hill where his friends were sitting in a circle, " What's she doing here?" " Show some respect for my lady or I'll cut your tongue out" Tom snapped. " I brought you all here today for a reason, from this day forth Odette shall be a part of our group, she will be in my future and she will be the Lady to your Lord, do I make myself clear?" " Yes my lord" everyone bowed to him " Good, then it shall be complete in January, after Christmas but for now" he turned to me and kissed my forehead " Go to your friends and do whatever it is you need to do before the ball my love" I smiled at him before giving a quick peck to his cheek, running back to my dormitory. After a good nap I spent the day getting ready with Molly and Lily, we painted each other's nails and did our skin care routines and face masks and showers and shaved so we could look perfect for tonight. At five pm we decided to get ready since the ball started at seven, we all did our make up and hair before getting our dresses and shoes on. Lily was stunning in her emerald green dress, her bright ginger hair in a braided bun. Molly was beautiful in her purple pink dress with her short hair curled. And I thought I looked gorgeous. (See above) I sprayed myself with perfume before grabbing my bag and going downstairs with the girls.

We were walking down the last set of stairs when everyone in our year stopped to stare at us. Arthur and James came over and took Molly and Lily away to Remus and Sirius, both of whom couldn't stop looking at me. Tom stared at me in awe as I walked to the end of the stairs, he took my hand and kissed it before smiling at me " You look absolutely beautiful Odette" I couldn't help but smile and blush " Thank you Tom, you look very handsome yourself" which he did, his black tux fitted him perfectly as his white shirt stood out with his black bow tie and hair slicked back he looked like a proper gentleman. He guided me inside the ballroom and we greeted his friends first, Goyle stared at me making Tom snap " Eyes off my lady Goyle" " Well I must say you clean up nicely" Jason said to me " No hard feelings, I'm the one Tom always sends to scare the girls away, glad to have you as part of our group".

I saw my friends and excused myself, I giddily grabbed Lily and Molly's hands as we smiled with each other. I hugged all the boys and looked at Remus confused " Where's your date?" " Uh she heard a rumour that I was a werewolf and didn't want to be my date anymore". I put my hand on his shoulder " Remus I'm so sorry" " Don't be, some people don't understand things when their minds are controlled by fear. That's why my date is Sirius" " Shove off" Sirius laughed. " Don't tell me your date bailed too?" " Oh, she only wanted to go with me so she could try get between you and Tom" " What?" I asked with furrowed brows " She's doing it right now actually" I turned to see Alice Keen flirting with Tom, putting her hand on his arm and smiling up at him.

I walked over to Tom and smiled at him " Hello beautiful" he smiled back at me causing Alice to frown " Tom I'd like to dance" she smiled as she touched his forearm, he gave her a look and rolled his eyes. I turned to Alice " Sweetie get your hands off my man and go bother a guy who will screw you" " Excuse me?!" She asked " You heard me, Tom is happily taken so if you wouldn't mind, leave us alone" " You think your special?" " Well I'm here with my incredibly handsome, smart boyfriend and your here alone trying to steal other girls boys so yes I do". She opened her mouth and I sighed " Look, you want Tom, you can't have him. Keep trying and I'll hex you, so get lost" she scoffed before storming off. Tom smirked at me " Seems you have a dark side to you" " Yeah right" I laughed. " Welcome to the fifth year dance, I hope you all will be responsible whilst you have a good time, enjoy your dance" Dippit said before the music started, nobody was dancing so Tom turned to me " May I have this dance my lady?" " Of course" I smiled before walking to the dance floor.

Tom took my hand and placed his other hand on my waist, we started gracefully dancing around the room and I couldn't help but smile when he picked me up and spun me before placing me back on the floor. Soon other people joined in but most girls stood staring at me in envy and jealousy while the guys stared at me in longing. While dancing towards the end of the night Tom whispered in my ear " Do you love me?" " You know I do Tom" " Would you do anything I asked?" I looked at him suspiciously " Where are you going with this?" Tom stopped " Do you trust me?" " I do". Tom took my hand and brought me to an empty room unnoticed, " Tom?" I asked confused " Would you do anything for me? Would you hurt for me? Would you kill for me?" " Tom your scaring me". Tom grabbed my arms and stared at me " I do love you Odette, and I do want you to be in my future. But for that to happen you need to darken that sweet heart of yours" " What?". "Your too soft, too caring. I love that about you but I need you to be tough, to be able to kill" " Kill? Why would I need to kill anything?" " Let me enlighten you" he smirked.
