The storm hits the island. Bad storms frequent the island; they already know that it will stay closed during hurricane/wet season, during the hottest and rainiest months (June-September). But this storm is really bad. Electricity is down. Dinosaurs are escaping. Highly recommend playing storm ambience - rainfall and intermittent thunder.
The ride hasn't arrived yet. There are two ways this could be explained: they either flooded out the road with opening the dam, or, if they didn't open the dam, the northern stream flooded over and the jeep can't quite get to them. They hear over the radio - their ride, Carlos, lets them know where to meet him - but the connection is bad, crackling and popping over the air.
Carlos lets them know he's actually taking a sick baby dino back to the facility, for Muldoon to take a look at, and he's nearby. "You'll have to come to me! I can't drive over this flooded area! I'll wait for you!" But then they hear a "(unintelligible yelling) 4672, 4672! 4672!" and maybe some screams...
Difficult to tell in this weather... hm... the radio keeps coming in and out. Bad connection. Maybe it wasn't screaming. Maybe that's just one of the creatures.
The party must go and meet the incoming ride from Carlos half-way. They have a radio now that Jerry has given them.
Night finally falls across Isla Nublar.

AdventureUsing the rules of Dungeons & Dragons 5e I wrote and ran a Jurassic Park One-Shot for my friends for my birthday in June 2019. The idea is a "prologue" that ties in directly to the events of the first Jurassic Park film by Steven Spielberg.
