"Are you sure you're okay with this? I can ask them to come another day." Harry turned from where he was facing the counter to me, "It could just be the three of us."
"Harry I've told you a million times its fine, it'll be nice to see them all again, and I'm sure Bella will have a great time."
I looked over in time to catch Isabella disappearing out of the room, Harry laughed and followed her as I glanced around the room to check it was tidy, it wasn't even my house and I was still fretting about how it looked.
She'd decided to start crawling a couple of days ago, almost as if she woke up and decided today I'm going to crawl, and then did. I was still getting used to the idea of having a baby that could actually move. Instead of being able to rely on her being in the same place I set her down in, she could now disappear even if I turned my back for just a second.
She really was growing up before my eyes.
The doorbell sounded and I paused for a second, listening out for Harry's footsteps that never came. A couple of seconds passed before it rang again and I heard Harry call out from another roome that he had his hands full and asking me to answer it. Standing up from my place at the breakfast bar, I quickly took a look at myself in the reflection of the oven door before making my way to the front door, taking a deep breathe before plastering a smile onto my face and swinging it open."Marnie! Its great to see you, how've you been?" Liam smiled warmly, pulling me into a hug.
I had to admit, my heart was pounding with nerves, I had no clue what they thought of me since the breakup, and then turning up out of the blue with Harry's child surely made me slightly less likeable than previously. But, the smiles across both of their faces mirrored the warmth of my own, causing me to allow myself to relax slightly.
"I've been good thanks, its good to see both again."
"Yeah, you too! Louis said to apologise for not making it, family stuff."
"I'm sure we'll find another time." I nodded reassuringly before glancing hopefully back into the house in search of Harry, "I'm not sure where Harry's gotten to actually, I think hes chasing Isabella around the house."
As if on cue, Harry came into the lounge with Isabella in his arms. He greeted them briefly before gesturing them into the lounger where they made themselves comfortable on one of the sofas in his lounge. I was suddenly overly aware that I looked extremely underdressed in comparison to them, my jogger and plain t-shirt combo not quite making the cut.
"Someone decided right now was the perfect time to make a total mess in the bathroom," Harry laughed looking down at Isabella and bouncing her up and down, "There's toiletries everywhere."
"You mean you haven't baby proofed the house yet?" Liam laughed up at Harry, who just shrugged sheepishly in response. I'd mentioned that it was something he'd need to do at some point since most of his very expensive ornaments sat within grabbing distance. "Mate, you need to get that done."
"Rookie error."
"Yeah, whatever, would one of you like to hold her while I clean up the mess?" He raised an eyebrow at the two.
"Can I?" Niall raised his hand slightly and placed his bottle of water on the floor as he reached up to take Isabella from Harry.
"Yeah of course, watch your glasses though, she'll grab them."
Harry carefully passed Isabella to Niall and he sat her on his knee facing him, his face breaking into a huge grin as she studied him for a second. She froze for a second as she assessed the situation before, as Harry predicted, reaching up an arm in an attempt to grab his glasses from his face. I laughed lightly and apologised, although neither of them seemed to care as they both fussed over Isabella, who was clearly loving the attention as she babbled away happily.
