13th September 2015

***

I never thought I'd be thankful for a wet and windy Sunday in the middle of September; but then again, these days I'm thankful for a lot of things I never thought I would be.

The rain hadn't let up in over a week, I wondered how the clouds even had any more rain to shower down, but today was the day I'd waited for and I don't think anything could ruin the excitement I'd felt in the pit of my stomach since the very second I'd woken up that morning.

I'd lost count of the amount of times I'd checked the time with the knowledge that at some point in the mid-afternoon the guy I loved more than anything was back, and he wouldn't be going away again for a long time. I was so unbelievably ready to have him back in my arms, and to talk to him without it being through a screen.

As I heard the metal gates at the front of the house jurr into motion I swear my heart was about to give out from how quickly it was beating, I just prayed it would hold out until I could give him a hug. I watched through the window with a big, stupid grin on my face as the black car I'd been waiting for came to a stop outside and Harry climbed out, too focused on pulling his million-and-one suitcases from the back of the car to notice me.

The lock of the front door clicked and echoed through the house as I move towards the front door, desperate for the moment I'd been waiting for.

Sure, he'd been home before during the tour, but then I always knew it wouldn't be long before he was jetting off to another part of the world again. This time, he had a handful of shows to finish before tour was over and then he'd be able to spend more time at home than he did on a plane.

"Honey, I'm ho-"

I didn't give him chance to finish before I launched myself into his open arms with a thud, earning a sudden groan from Harry at the impact before he recovered from the shock and wrapped his arms around me tightly. I took in a deep breath as I buried my head into his chest, welcoming the familiar smell of his cologne as it surrounded me.

His heart beat echoed quickly in my ear as I buried my head in his chest, welcoming the comfort of the hoodie he was wearing and knowing it would somehow end up in my wardrobe instead of his soon enough.

"I missed you." I sighed, holding him close to me for as long as he'd allow me before he pulled me back slightly with one hand on each of my shoulders. He looked over my face for a moment, breathing heavy before he pulled me back into him wordlessly.

"I missed you too...more than you'll ever know." He replied, holding me close enough that I could hear his heart beat and his breathing loudly in my ears. "I never want to be away from the two of you again, not ever...if I go on tour or anything ever again, you're just going to have to come with me," he mumbled whilst he ran his hands up and down my arms, "will you come with me?"

He sounded so soft and full of love when he spoke the last part and in that moment I think my heart was left in a wet puddle across the floor. I pulled back from his grasp and met his eyes, reaching up and brushing the strands of hairs that had fallen loose from the hairtie back off of his face.

I nodded briefly in response to his question, and I meant it. I couldn't cope with doing this again, I think I'd follow that man to the end of the earth if he so much as asked.
