Moon and Flowers

Chapter Ten

Though confused, I was excited to the point that I woke up before my alarm the next day.  I even scanned through my wardrobe for half an hour last night for this particular day. That is because I'm not just going to the building, attending meetings for the rest of my day. He said he'll bring me to his office. His office! This is once in a blue moon to happen.

Pagtapos na pagtapos kong maghanda ng pagkain niya, I cleaned the kitchen while waiting for him. When he came out to eat, it was my turn to shower. I prepared the outfit I'd been dying to wear. This is also a reason why I wanted to go to an office, So I could wear this cute corporate attire. I wore my pale pink pencil skirt and tucked in a white v-neck blouse. But there's no way I'll be wearing heels. Please. 

Paglabas ko, nandoon pa rin siya.  He was in the process of wearing his suit jacket when I went out. I thought he would be leaving as soon as he eats his breakfast. 

He arranged the cuff of his sleeves before turning his head to me. "Let's go."

"Ha?" 

Hindi siya sumagot at naglakad na papunta sa pintuan. So, I hurriedly grabbed the smoothie that I prepared earlier and followed him outside. We were only the people in the elevator, and this will take a long time all the way down. The silence is knocking at my ears. 

Napatingin na lang ako sa harap, which reflects how we look like. Two people can still fit between us. But I looked at what I'm wearing. It's beautiful. I chuckled a bit when I remember a certain Kdrama. I knew it. I knew this is how she dressed like. 

I bit my lip and looked down when Spade looked at me through the reflection in the elevator. I only stayed quiet but I'm secretly grinning the whole time. I'm just really excited. I've never been with him for the sake of something unnecessary. And looking at how we looked like in this elevator mirror, I feel like I'm in a Kdrama series. It was so cute. Sinundan ko lang siya hanggang carpark. I can't believe we're going to his office together. Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala when I thought about it the whole night. 

"Get in," utos niya at pumasok na sa driver's seat.

His car again. It's hard to breathe here but I guess not today. I can breathe easily now but it's still awkward. It's too quiet. The sound of the road outside is ringing in my ears. Buti may mahinang tugtog galing sa stereo kahit papaano. Diretso lang ang tingin ko sa labas but soon enough, the feeling drew away when I saw the clean streets and towering structures as we pass by. People are jogging, and some are going to a cafe. There are people outside that I can watch. It's a thing about being ill, I guess. You can't do something normal to everyone so you just start to appreciate it, wishing you can do it too. 

I sipped on my smoothie while looking outside. Mukhang wala talagang balak magsalita si Spade while I'm constantly clearing my throat already. His silence is still making me uneasy. I guess we're getting near. Natatanaw ko na yung building. And also, people are going there too. I guess Spade's a bit late because of me. But he doesn't seem to mind.

"Just follow me," sabi niya at nauna nang bumaba sa sasakyan. Agad naman akong sumunod. A boy got in and drove the car away.

His bodyguards suddenly showed up behind us. But just as he said, I followed him inside. Everyone's greeting him and moved aside so he can go to the office turnstile. Napatigil din yung iba nung papasok na sana only to greet him. Everyone's greeting him, lahat ng madadaanan namin. Some are looking at me so I just focused my eyes somewhere empty. But at least there aren't as many people here in the lobby. And just like how it was for me, the bodyguards tapped their ID for us to get in. 

"Spade, dito," tawag ko pagbukas ng elevator sa harap ko. 

Nung paparating siya, lumabas lahat ng nakasakay na at pinauna siya. Everyone that was supposed to go inside took a step back and bowed as a greeting before choosing another elevator. Naiwang walang laman ang elevator nang makapasok na siya.
