"Where do you want to go?"
We're already in his car with no destination in mind. And I don't really know what to say. We haven't spoken since that conversation at the breakfast table. After eating, I went straight to his bathroom to prepare for this trip that he reminded me of.
"Anywhere?" I asked back.
He nodded. "Anywhere. Though we can't go abroad as of now. I have work tomorrow. But you can tell me. I'll make a schedule."
"I was just thinking if we can go to Intramuros..." I whispered. I wasn't even thinking of going abroad!
He glanced at me. "Intramuros?"
"Mm..." I mumbled under my breath. "I want to go there. But if you don't want, then I guess... I don't know."
"No," he said. "It's okay. We'll go there."
"Okay..." I muttered.
Muntik ko nang punitin yung bucket list ko no'n. Itatapon ko na sana. Though the rest would be junked, but not the Intramuros and the amusement park. I'm willing to sell off my heart just to get inside an amusement park.
Intramuros. I've been dreaming to go there since high school. They went there for a field trip and I remember Madison's pictures there were so good that it's still etched in my mind up until now.
Napangiti na lang ako sa kawalan at tumingin sa labas. The sky is clear yet the sun is nowhere to be found. I mean, everything looks good around here. It's so good to be outside.
"Where else do you want to go?" he asked.
"Wait," I said, turning on my phone to check the places. "I want to go to Intramuros though I don't want to walk so sandali lang. I just want to know what it looks like because I've seen it in photos since high school. It seems to be a nice place to have pictures. Then aside from that, well, I actually planned four places but I'm not in the mood for long walks so I guess just Intramuros and... an amusement park..." I stopped.
He looked at me. "What's wrong?"
"Is that okay?" I hesitated to ask. "I can skip the amusement park."
Spade grinned a bit. His shoulders are slightly shaking so I suppose he's laughing.
"No. That sounds fun," he replied.
"Why are you laughing?" Sinimangutan ko siya.
"I've never been to an amusement park here." His laugh subsided. "Let's go there."
Lalo akong napanguso. Disneyland is probably the park he visited most often as a kid. While there's me. I couldn't even fly in an airplane.
"Is it okay?" I asked again.
He cleared his throat and nodded. "Go on."
I looked back at my copy. "So the next ones are for you. You said you like good restaurants so it's up to you where that goes. Lunch around Intramuros would be nice and maybe dinner on our way home so you wouldn't get too tired driving."
"Intramuros first?" he repeated. "We have plenty of time to kill, then. Do you want to go around with my yacht for dinner?"
I shook my head. "No. I prefer the amusement park down South. We wouldn't make it for a yacht cruise and dinner. Maybe next time. If there's next time."
"Of course, there is."
Though I've never been on a yacht. This is driving me crazy. I guess that is what going out sounds like to him.
As we reached Intramuros, my lips stretched across the extent of my cheekbones. It looks good. Not good. This is more than the best. And my outfit here would be so great! I'm wearing a knee-length burgundy corduroy skirt and a knot-front blouse. It's really comfortable and the vintage style fits the street and the cobblestones under my feet.
