They did not expect the place to be huge. To be cozy. And to actually feel like.. home. It was a nice place for two brothers to live.

It wasn't too small nor was it too big. Like in the story Goldilocks, it was just right.

"You have a really cozy house." Asriel complimented, following both Papyrus and Sans inside. I closed the door behind to not let the cold in. The place seems like it had magic, it was warm as if it hadn't been snowing outside.

"THANK YOU! WE TRY TO MAKE IT A BIT MORE.. HOME-SY." Papyrus' eyes squints at the word.

"he got that from this site called tumblr," the hair at the back of my neck stood at the site he had mentioned, a site only available to the world I live in, so why is it— "isnt my brother cool?" Sans immediately interjected my train of thought. His eyes pierces into mine, it held an emotion that was thrown aside once you noticed how big the grin on his face is.

"He's super cool." Was all I had to say for him to drop that look he had in his eyes.

Sans immediately went on full "I'm-A-Proud-Brother" mode and told me all this stories about his brother Papyrus.

Our day was drowned with stories from the two skeleton, and Asriel and I couldn't have been happier; until we has to leave.

"WE'LL BE HAPPY TO HAVE YOU BACK!" Papyrus hollered as we were walking back from where we came from.

"visit us soon." sans added as both Asriel and I waved out goodbyes to them.

And that was how everything started. How this little cozy home became our little secret.

"Ben? Asriel? Where are you two going?" The sweet voice of Toriel called out from our behind.

Both Asriel and I were wearing puffed out winter coats I got from outside the Underground, and to be honest, it did look weird wearing it in this part of the Ruins.

"Uhm, outside?" Asriel answered.

"With those clothes?" Toriel sassed, but I could tell she already knew what's up.

"Yeah..?" Asriel's unbelievable tone answered his mother back, and I knew for one that it isn't buyable.

"Okay, you two be safe."

Asriel perked at his mother's response, his brown eyes glancing sideways toward my direction and I only gave him a short shrug.

"We'll be back before sun down, love you, bye!" He rapped, scared his mother might change her mind. As he rushed pass the two of us, I attempted to follow him when Toriel's paw clasped my shoulder tenderly.

"I know I'm asking for too much.. but please take care of him for me."

I returned her request with a smile, "That's a tough job." I joked and we both shared a laugh, "But really, Mrs. T. It's not a bother, I honestly love looking after the kid."

A smirk played across her snout as she placed her hands on her hip, "Kid? You're not so old yourself." We both chuckled.

If only she knew.

Shivers ran down my spine as we both ceased in laughter. "Well, I.. better get going."

"Of course." Toriel smiled down at me warmly, "Do invite your friends over sometime, alright? I'd love to make them something as a thank you gift for taking you two in for the afternoon."

"Of course." I beamed, knowing full well that Mrs. T and Mr. A would love the two skeleton as Asriel and I does.

"BEN, HURRY UP!" Speaking of which.. Asriel's impatient voice echoed through the tunnel underground.

I looked back at Mrs. T; she smiling understandingly down at me. And with the softest voice, she said, "Go. Don't make him wait."

I grinned as wide as I could. Somehow, it felt like an encouragement to something else. "We'll be back before dinner, Mrs. T! Bye, I love you!" Everything stopped right then.

Both our eyes widened, mouths ajar. Neither of us knew what to say after, we were both equally shocked.

Tears rounded the corner of her eyes, and by instinct, I panicked. "I-I—I am so sor—"

Her warm, fluff of paw grabbed me by my shoulder. She pulled me towards her, wrapping her arms around my frame as she rested her snout atop my head; nuzzling it in such a kind manner. She took the most deepest and shakiest breath I have ever heard from her.

"I love you more, my child."

And that was.. that was how everything started.

How my life got flipped—turned upside down.
