"The Prince is dead."

I felt my world collapse right then. It was as if the walls of the Underground gave up on itself and destroyed everyone that resides within it except for me.

The monster who brought the news to us timidly left as Sans told them to. I stood there, my mind blank, my entire core empty.

"ben." Sans called out, and I could feel myself slowly looking at him. He reached out a hand and say, "calm down. we can.. we can figure this out."

Slowly, I shook my head and glitched out of Hotlands to where I could still feel his heat signature.

The Ruins.

There was always less sunlight in the Ruins; but why, out of all the days did it decide to be so bright now. Why couldn't it have been darker?

Why couldn't it just be.. me?

I never imagined this day to.. even be like this. With me, standing in front of a lifeless body. And not just any lifeless body..

"What are you doing there?" I heard myself ask.

"You shouldn't be lying there, Azz. It's dirty." It was growing harder and harder to talk the more I stared at the lifeless body in front of me.

"You're not supposed to be here." The image of his figure slowly engraving itself in my code.

"Asriel, please.. get up." I heard my voice crack, my knees gave up on its own and all I could feel was myself, crawling pathetically towards the boy I refused to love.

I cradled his head in my chest, watching it roll lifelessly. "Asriel, wake up."

Rushed footsteps echoed within the Ruins, their breathing heavy as finally, their figures formed by the entrance of where we were. A blinding light flashed before my eyes and there I saw Sans, hands in his pocket.

"bud, we can fix this." Was what he told me, but I was out of it. I know I was out of it.

"No. Get the fuck away."

"Benjamin.." Toriel's soothing voice called, tears soaked her snow-white fur, Asgore held onto his wife as his eyes never seem to leave the figure in my hold.

"He's.. Is he.. dead?" Asgore was the one who spoke, and I shook my head.

"No.. don't say that." I spoke through gritted teeth, my hold on Asriel tightened, "He's just.."

"sleeping?" Sans suggested, bewildered. "ben, look at you.. youre not stable. let us handle it."

"No.. no! What the fuck do you know?!"

Sans' eyes widened, he was out of things to say, and it was now Toriel who was talking.

"Benjamin, my child.. I'm sorry." My eyes widened then, suddenly understanding why they looked so resigned.

"No.. No! You can't.." they avoided my stare, and it felt like a knife jabbed itself in my chest. "Just like that? You're just.. giving him up just like that?"

They didn't respond, and I could feel my blood boil. "Does he mean nothing to you?" I could taste the venom in my mouth as I spoke out their disgusting actions.

"He does, heavens know he means too much to us." Toriel cried out, but it.. somehow, it wasn't enough to convince me. I know I'm in no position to tell them what to do. I know that.. I just.. I-

"ben.. i know you regret not telling him what you feel, but-"

"No!" I snapped, my voice changed into something demonic. Toriel gasped as Asgore pulled his wife to stand behind him, their eyes held fear in them; possibly the same emotion Asriel had when he encountered the human.
