"Ma'am... Ma'am..."
Waking up to the gravelly voice of a man and a large hand gently wavering my body, I fluttered open my drowsy eyes and raised my face to see who was calling me.
It was an elderly man dressed in a navy vest and a uniform cap, the same guy I saw when I first entered this comparatively small bus.
"This is your stop." he kindly informed me, having memorized my destination since I was literally the only passenger that he had to drive.
I was currently on my way to visit my grandma who resides in the most secluded rural town ever, so of course it was extremely rare for someone to ride a bus to this area.
"T-Thank you." I languidly muttered as I stood up from my seat, finally allowing my butt to breathe after a lengthy three hour ride.
The bus rumbled off and left me all alone in the middle of nowhere with my fuchsia pink luggage, surrounded by nothing but boundless jungles and plenty of greenery.
I immediately unzipped my Gucci purse and took out my iPhone, ready to bombard my friends with a zillion messages of complaints of how much I hate it here already.
But, at the top left corner of my phone, the two words of "No Service" instantly caught my eye.
I buried my face in my palms out of absolute hopelessness and whined loudly, "You've got to be kidding meeee!"
"Oh? Is that you Hana?" I heard a frail, quivery voice say out of the blue, making me lift my gaze from my useless phone and towards the person.
There stood my grandma, her silken grey hair tied up in a high bun and the cute wrinkles around her eyes forming even more as she grinned at the sight of me.
The corners of my lips curling up in genuine merriment, I scurried to her side and embraced her hunched figure oh so gently, being reunited once again after so many years.
I never liked this place, but I love my grandma to death.
Gradually letting go and looking directly at her smiley face, I sighed in contentment, "I've missed you grandma."
"I couldn't sleep last night because I was so excited to see you today! Oh look at you, all matured and beautiful as ever." she complimented me as she caressed my cheek with the back of her jittery hand.
She's become evidently weaker and shorter over the years, but the enthusiasm in her tone hasn't changed a single bit.
"Let's go." she squeezed my hand and gestured towards the direction of her house, tugging me along with her as if I was still the seven-year-old me.
Chuckling at how absolutely nothing has changed, I obediently followed behind her tiny body.
As we reached the entrance of her wooden, antiquated residence, she opened her sliding door with all her might and reminded me without looking back, "Make sure you take off your shoes before entering!"
As my grandma ambled into the living room, I heard her instigate a conversation with a certain someone.
"I'm home~" she hummed happily, and a way too familiar voice answered promptly with a question.
"Oh, where's Hana?"
Hearing his distinctive voice, I speedily sprinted toward the room without a second to waste, only to see the adorable face of my favorite cousin out of the five I have.
