Today's the day of Hana's rendezvous with her stupid boyfriend, and I meekly awaited my partner in crime behind the aquarium as planned.

Unfortunately, I felt a droplet of liquid fall onto the tip of my nose and soon enough, the hard pitter-pattering of the rain increased its strength.

"Shit." I cursed under my breath, hastily sprinting into a nearby public bathroom.

With no sign of Hana or Jin anywhere, I lifted my wrist up to my chest level and checked my watch for the time.

12:05 p.m.

But suddenly, a recognizable figure came darting into the restroom with disheveled, drenched hair.

Identifying the individual as none other than Kim Seokjin, I smacked him harshly on his chest and chided, "Dude! You're late!"

"Sorry sorry! Are they here yet?" he apologized as he yanked out a few paper towels out of the dispenser attached onto the restroom wall, drying his hair aggressively and rushingly.

"I don't see Hana anywhere. I don't think she's here yet." I updated him on my observations, still eyeing the entrance area of the aquarium.

"Oh, her boyfriend's here though." Jin peeked his head out next to me, and I frantically asked him, "Where?!"

"That dude over there with the black umbrella." he said and directed my eyes with his index finger.

"Oh what the fuck

"Oh what the fuck." I rolled my eyes as I looked away in relinquishment and complete loss of hope, reposing the back my head against the wall and complaining, "He's hot."

"Like, if I was a chick, I'd go for him too." I grumbled as I lost all motivation that was remaining in me.

"Yeah, that's exactly what every 'chick' in our school thought until he fell for Hana." Jin informed me about the start of their relationship.

"Wait, wait, wait, he goes to our school?!?!" I asked as my eyes widened in absolute consternation, not expecting such an unexpected revelation.

"That's what I was trying to tell you yesterday but you wouldn't listen!" he said and palmed his face in aggravation.

"His name's Kim Taehyung. I don't know much about him because he's not in our homeroom, but all I know is that he's the principal's son and every girl's heartthrob." Jin gave me personal information about this guy, who supposedly is so flawless and impeccable in every possible way.

"Dang, and Hana managed to win the heart of such a guy?" I queried in confusion, being aware of that girl's extremely immature and annoying side.

"Yeah, and that's why she was bullied a lot when they first started dating. But Taehyung's been there for her and they've been the school's 'perfect' couple for about six months now." Jin shrugged with disbelief and doubt in this rumor.

Biting my lips in bitterness and from the relentless stinging deep in my chest, I obstinately declared, "I-I'm just gonna give up on this stupid crush on Hana-"

"But" Jin hushed me with his finger up in my face, continuing with his knowledge of the hearsay circulating in school, "I also heard they have fights a lot."

"So you might still have a chance Kookie." Jin tried to provide me with some optimism in the situation, implying that they might potentially breakup.

"I don't know, I don't wanna ruin such a pure and genuine relationship like theirs." I shook my head in objection, not being that type of guy to steal someone's girl.

Placing a hand on my left shoulder, Jin stated in an unwavering manner, "Dude, we did not come all the way here for nothing. We're gonna keep following them to find what kind of couple they really are."

"Jin, I just wanna go home-"

"Hana's here." he abruptly notified me while gazing out the restroom, and I quickly peeped at where they stood.

There she was in a mini skirt despite this chilly weather, her hair stylishly curled and her apparel very fashionable and captivating, all for that Taehyung guy.

"Come on, they're going in." Jin said as he tugged my arm, and our spontaneous mission began.

* * *

The inside of the darkened aquarium was relatively empty and enormous with small groups of people here and there.

I understood why Hana's boyfriend said this is his favorite place, because the multitudinous sea creatures swimming on the other side of the transparent glass was undeniably beautiful.

I just wish it was Hana beside me and not a dude that made it seem like we were the only gay couple in the building.

"Jungkook! Look at the big ass shark up there!" Jin gaped at the gigantic fish with his index finger pointed up.

"I don't remember bringing a seven year old with me in here." I released a sigh, instantly making him shut his mouth out of embarrassment.

"Wait, where's Hana?" Jin whispered, noticing that Taehyung was all alone reading the aquarium's pamphlet in his hand.

"There. She bought drinks." I spotted her approaching her boyfriend with two canned juices in a hurried manner.

"Damn, did Taehyung really make his girlfriend get both of them drinks? See, horrible boyfriend right there." Jin shook his head in disapproval, appearing to have some sort of loathing towards that dude.

"Hana's just too nice. She doesn't know how to say 'no.'" I told Jin as I glanced back at him.

With his body freezing up all of a sudden, Jin frenziedly warned in return, "Uh, Jungkookie, whatever you do, do not turn around."

"Why-"

Doing the total opposite of what he just instructed, I regretted not listening or even having eyes at all.

Hana with her arms locked around his waist and Taehyung with his palms holding her tiny face, there they stood in the blue, circumambient lighting, sharing a passionate kiss.

It was as if everything was moving in slow motion, like a fatal bullet of a gun was drilling right through my chest and was gradually ripping apart every bit of my pulsating heart.

But I don't know what the hell I even expected.

Taehyung and Hana are dating, there was nothing wrong with what they were doing.

It was wrong of me to even anticipate any sort of probability or validation for my unrequited feelings towards such an unattainable girl.

What am I doing?

What did I want from doing this?

What was I thinking?

Unable to take what I had just witnessed, I stormed out of the aquarium without ever looking back.
