chapter fifteen ; prom

Madej gave Angela a displeased look. "What makes you think I'm gonna dress up as a penguin?" He touched the fabric. "A ... mildly gay one at that." He looked at the shirt that came with the suit, light pastel colours in vertical stripes that resembled the rainbow flag.

"I'm wearing fancy gay stuff too. So is Jessica,"

"Yeah, but you two are going together. What am I, the queer chauffeur?"

Angela gave him a look. "I've never seen you drive."

"I have my licence. Just not a car." He shrugged a shoulder, smiling a little. "I'm gonna go get changed in the bathroom, feel free to get changed in here," he said, taking the suit in his arms.

He went into the bathroom and changed into his suit for prom. Once he was dressed, he looked in the mirror. He had black trousers on, the pastel shirt and would have some braces on once he'd returned to his bedroom. Madej spent a few minutes doing up his hair, putting on aftershave, before he deemed himself as good as he was going to be.

"You decent?" he called through the door of his bedroom, waiting for Angela to be done before he would go back into his room.

"Who is Yee-Honk with a cowboy and clown emoj- is that Jasper's name in your phone?"

Madej smiled, amused at her reaction. "Yeah. Hey, why are you snooping in my phone?"

"You got a message, I got curious. I'm dressed by the way." At her words, Madej opened the door to enter his room, shutting it behind him. "Look at you! Jasper's gonna wanna tear that off -"

"Angie." Madej said, shaking his head at her. He put the braces on, ignoring the amused look on Angela's face.

Angela's dress was rather nice. The skirt itself had the rainbow aesthetic, faint and pastel, whilst the upper part was a pale blue. She had new jewellery on, which matched her aesthetic but were charmed like her regular jewellery.

He watched as she did her makeup, looking exquisite. "What are you doing with your hair? Bun or braids?" she asked, applying wicked sharp eyeliner.

"Bun. I wear braids nearly every day," he said once he'd brushed through it. He felt the blood leaving his arms as he held them up above his head, tying his hair up.

"If I was straight," Angela said, and Madej laughed, shaking his head at her. She reached up and took out a few strands.

Once she had done, and her hair was ready, Madej grabbed his suit jacket and the two went down the stairs.

"Wow, you both look amazing," Mandy said when she saw them. She looked over her shoulder. "Jasper, Jessica,"

Oh, so their dates had arrived while the two had been getting ready.

The two appeared on either side of Mandy, and Jessica gave Angela a hungry sort of look and Madej just looked away from her, amused that Jessica had no shame.

"I want pictures," Mandy said, already holding up her camera.

The four stood for the expected photos, and Benedict appeared behind his mom, looking amused at them.

"God, imagine going to prom?" Benedict said, grinning at Madej. He just rolled his eyes and flipped him off in return. "Have fun, don't get drunk."

"You will not get drunk!" Mandy said, looking between the four of them. "I will kill all of you if you do."

Madej rolled his eyes. He knew people would find a way to spike the drinks, but he wasn't into the whole alcohol gig, especially after the hangover he got from the house warming party he and the others had had.
