How the hell did we end up in this mess? I'm locked up in some kind of cell for nobility with Fallacy. let me think. We got to this city after a week of me flying at night and fallacy dragging me along during the day. Everyone was panicking and we were just trying to gather some kind of resources for the next two months of traveling. Someone came up to fallacy and told her that we should get away while we still could in some kind of foreign language. Fallacy asked why and apparently there is a huge crying willow that has a demon within that wants a sacrifice once a year and the one that they planned on sacrificing died before they could get killed. Fallacy had asked to see the tree in case she could do anything since her mother had thought her a thing or two about demons okay who am I kidding Her mother was a fucking demon hunter. Fallacy had examined the tree and found a solution but the demon or whatever the fuck it was got scared and demanded fallacy as a sacrifice.

"Remind me again why we didn't just abandon the city?" I asked

"That would be unethically and aren't you just a little curious about this demon? Or am I just a bit strange?" Fallacy replied.

"If one of us wouldn't get killed then maybe. Fallacy you're pregnant with my niece or nephew I don't want them to die," 

"So this is more about the vampire's future heiress than my life? And let me remind you if you had chosen to leave in another way I wouldn't be pregnant," Fallacy spoke. I didn't answer Despite me having looked at her with a forbidden eye for the longest time was this more about her children's life than her own. Fallacy walked over to a window five meters away from me. She made her strings go around the bares covering the window. They knew that I could fly but it was day noon to be exact and I couldn't even go near the window without it hurting me badly. Fallacy wrapped her strings around the bars and it looked like they were glowing like molten iron but then it did melt.

"What are you doing?"

"Checking if my hunch was right and it was. You see Your brother's phoenix has been sharing magic with me so I figured that my own magic would have a few new abilities and apparently can I now heat up my strings. I've melted the metal so we should be able to escape," Fallacy said.

"You can but just so you know it's the middle of the day," I said Fallacy sighed. She looked so tired but then ran back to the window and threw up. I heard footsteps approaching and quickly picked up Fallacy. I went to the corner of the room and stayed hidden in the shadow. Luckily the stone this tower was build of was naturally dark. Fallacy tried to protest but stayed quiet and shock ever so slightly her bones rattled and her breathing quicken a lot. What the hell is happening? Her hands went to her skull then I realized what was happening. A trauma sighting. or whatever they're called. I gently held her to stop her bones from rattling and forced her head against my shoulder making sure that she couldn't scream if she suddenly decided to do so. The door opened and I couldn't do anything other than this or else I would blow our cover. I heard whoever was there yelling that we were gone. I could sense Fallacy's soul sent out distressed signals begging for some kind of comfort.but the just went to a complete still before having something sinister to it. The person left and I tried to get Fallacy to calm down but it was a lost cause from the start. She was struggling and trashing trying to get to the window but I overpowered her. I took of my cape and tightly wrapped her in it. The stupid phoenix came and hissed at me.

"Look I'm trying to get us out alive and her having a panic attack will not help," The phoenix hissed at me and placed themself on Fallacy. Great just what I needed.

"Lisent I don't have all day so get the hell off or," I was cut off as Fallacy suddenly stood up and jumped out of the window. The phoenix took my cape and held it up. I turned to a bat and followed in the shadow of the cape as we followed Fallacy. I got a glim of her face and I was horrified. Her eyes had this hollow but read look to it while she had an insane smile. She goes straight to the tree and it's burning. People are screaming and trying to attack her but then the demon appears and before it can reach has Fallacy tied them up and killed it. She walked up to its face afterward and rips out a gem between its eyes and the collapses. I land in the shade of a house and the phoenix tries to wake her. I was shocked speechless motionless. like what the hell just happened. I covered myself fully and walked over to her and picked her up. I sighed and walked back to the shadow as a crowd gathered people were thanking me and shit but I eventually asked for a doctor since she was pregnant and all. A female approached me and told me to follow. I did and then what had happened finally sunk in. She had this insane look and I could make that fit in with her usual calm and sweet personality. Like what in the name of the devil happened?
