Mama once told me, marriage isn't a ring worn or a paper signed. It is not something endured but savoured. It is the union of two hearts beating as one, each that would sacrifice for the other's happiness and wellbeing.

Marriage is something so beautiful that in natural world it would be an opening rose, always with radiant petals left to unfurl to a warm sun. Perhaps that is why we give roses to those we love and often have them at our sacred unions. Marriage is the blessing we give to one another, an eternal bond of soulmates.

Some say, marriage is a place where the savage winds cease, where no clouds could block the warm of the evening rays. It is a place where the sun may set with not fear of the darkness to come. Where once soul could whisper to another in a language only its mate could truly hear. A place where togetherness means peace.

What about love?

I've read a book saying, as sunlight enters raindrops and emerges as rainbows, so love enters the soul of each person and emerges as their passions in arts, science, nature. In whatever sparks their curiosity and drive. It is how they find their truth and purpose. It is how they give of themselves to others.

Love is what makes us who we are, it is the energy that brings us to live.

Papa says, love is sweet, yet more as fresh fruit than candy or confectionery. Love is colourful, yet more as summer blooms than the neo lights of frenetic city streets. Love is steady and forgiving, yet more as the wise mother than the servants in chains.

Love hears and speaks with wisdom of the heart, with a sense of the soul of the other. In love, we have our 'forever home' and it gives us the ability to fly so freely, joyfully returning when each heart calls for the other's touch. Love after all, transcends time, distance and even mortality. Love is the greatest wonder of our age.

I don't know what my future lies ahead but if this is my fate, to be wed to another when my heart aches for other. I accept it.

"Princess, you are so beautiful."

The day was finally here.

The day she would be called the wife to the Emperor Spriggan. The blonde girl took a deep breath and gazed at her figure in the mirror with a small smile, trying to cheer herself up. Hana and Shu Heartfilia walked to the daughter and those three smiled at each other.

Shu rubbed her shoulders protectively, saying he couldn't believe that, his princess finally was getting married at the age of nineteen. He strongly believed that his choice for her was the best. And he would let another man took care of her just like he did for nineteen years. The father wiped his tears and gave her a close eyed smile.

Hana stroked her blonde locks and asked her to smile. Blaire stared at her image in the mirror, wearing the wedding dress her husband chose and a crown sat perfectly on her head. Like a true Queen. She didn't know why but she barely felt anything. She's conflicted whether to feel nervous or happy.

"Mama, is this right?"

Hana made a face that filled the room with silence and tension instantly. "Princess, are you hesitating?" Blaire closed her eyes and saw a black haired guy in her mind. No matter how desperate she was to forget him, he just kept appearing in her head. A choke escaped her red lips and her body was trembling.

Shu wrapped his arms around his daughter and soothed her. He stroked her hair and Blaire put her face on his shoulder. "I'm fine. Just nervous." She pulled away and smiled a little before taking a deep breath, twirling around to show the dress to her parents. Unaware of her sorrow, the parents asked the maids if they were ready.
