Jisung groaned as he woke up. He already knew he had to see Minho today, and he just wanted to stay home and avoid his problems. He stretched his limbs out before sitting up. He rubbed his eyes and reached for his phone to shut off his alarm. The blonde ruffled his messy hair and grabbed his glasses. He slid out of bed while putting his glasses on and walked over to his closet sluggishly.
That morning he made the decision that he would put more effort into his outfits purely just because he felt like it. He looked through his clothes and eventually put an outfit together. The outfit differed greatly from what he usually wore to school.
Jisung felt satisfied with his outfit and continued to get ready for school. He put his contacts in and sighed as he looked at himself in the mirror. As his birthday grew closer and closer, he got more and more nervous. What if his soulmate didn't like him? He wanted to be excited, but all he felt was anxiety.
He shook his thoughts out of his mind and continued to get ready. After he brushed his bleach blonde hair, he put a beret on. He grabbed all of his things before heading out of his room and downstairs.

"Good morning Ji- Oh, what a nice outfit! When did you get that sweater? And that beret!" His mom bombarded him with questions as she admired his outfit. She fidgeted with his sweater and beret. "I got it when I was shopping yesterday. Do you really need to do that?" He whined. "I'm just looking at it! It looks very good on you." She smiled. Jisung groaned in annoyance, causing his mother to laugh.
"Breakfast will be ready in a few minutes. You can just sit down, I already set the table." She smiled and patted him on the back as he walked over to the table. As Jisung sat and waited for the food, he thought about the red string. Although he thought it was cool, he never really looked up everything about it. He unlocked his phone and searched up the red string. He went on the first website he saw and read up on it.
Many describe the red string of fate as a thin red thread that connects 2 or more people (usually 2 or 3) once both or all of the people turn 18. Many people have theorized that you always have the red string, but it only becomes visible once you are of age.
A common belief with the red string is that once you're linked with someone, you'll be linked with them forever. This, however, is just a myth. After two weeks of being linked with someone, the string will disappear. If the soulmates do not end up liking each other and confess their love, then they can go separate ways. However, it is a common belief that if the soulmates end up liking each other after those 2 weeks but didn't confess their love then they could not be together. Though no one has proved that the soulmates can't be together, many believe it to be that way.
The string is visible to everyone, but no one can feel it except for the soulmates. It is not a problem of being in the way if someone is trying to walk by as anyone who isn't involved in the relationship can phase through it. The red string can stretch and retract. It tends to retract when-
