Canon: VERY GODDAMN CANON. We cannot do much about it. Cheek kisses, butt pats, sleeping together in one bed, a date?! This has got to be canon. And also the chibitalia segments, since the HRE = Doitsu thing could actually be true, considering that history agrees, Tumblr agrees, and even Hima agrees. (And it's hard to find Tumblr agreeing to something.) Also, we know that Italy likes boys, since he did mention his first love was one. Yep. All canon.

IRL: As usual, very confusing. While they did maintain okay-ish relations after WW2, and are still pretty friendly to each other in the EU, they're still having the G4 VS the Coffee Club thing in the UN. (Basically Japan, Germany, India and Brazil trying to get permanent spots in the UN security council, but Italy, China, Pakistan and others objecting to said deal, due to geopolitical reasons.) Don't ask me how I know this.

Problematic?: If Germany was Holy Rome, then yes. If not, then NOPE. Why? Age matters, bruh. (Webtoon reference 'cause I'm a degenerate weeb)

My opinion: Pretty okay, I ship. Though it is kind of boring due to lack of fandom content. Since Gerita is shipped a lot, I can't really talk about the fans. Though, PLEASE LAY OFF THE ANGST. I WANT FLUFF.
