Several days had passed and the students had returned to back to the castle just in time to restart the new term for the year. The first week passed and the group decided to head off to the library to continue their research on Nicholas Flamel
"I had you looking in the wrong section! How could I be so stupid?" Hermione says as she walks up to the boys carrying a large and thick book before slamming it on the table causing a loud noice. "I checked this out a few weeks ago for a bit of light reading"
"This is light reading?" Ron asks earning a glare from the girl
"Of course! Here it is! "Nicholas Flamel is the only known maker of the Philosopher's Stone!" Hermione says reading the book aloud
"The Philosopher's stone?" Ron and Harry ask together
"Honestly, don't you two read? "The Philosopher's Stone is a legendary substance with astonishing powers. It will turn any metal into pure gold and produces the Elixir of Life, which will make the drinker immortal" Y/n informs
"Exactly" Hermione adds
"Immortal?" Ron questions
"It means you'll never die" Y/n says
"I know what it means!" Ron exclaims getting a smirk from Y/n and a chuckle from Harry and Hermione
""The only stone currently in existence belongs to Mr. Nicholas Flamel, the noted alchemist, who last year celebrated his 665th birthday!" Hermione reads
"So that's what Fluffy is guarding. What's under the trapdoor is the Philosopher's stone" Y/n says as the other three turn to him
"We should meet up later and tell Hagrid" Harry says getting nods from the table
The moon had risen and the group had joined together to to to Hagrid's hut to tell him about their research
"Hagrid!" Harry calls knocking on the door
"Oh, hello. Sorry, don't wish to be rude, but I'm in no fit state to entertain today" Hagrid says opening them closing the door
"We know about the Philosopher's Stone!" The four exclaim
"Oh" Hagrid says before moving aside and letting the four inside
"We think Snape is trying to steal it" Harry says as he takes a seat on a trunk next to Ron and Hermione sits in a chair with Y/n standing beside her
"Snape? Blimey, Harry, you're not still on about him, are you?" Hagrid says as he walks around the home from corner to corner
"Hagrid we know Snape is going after the stone we just don't know why" Harry adds looking to the giant who turns to him
"Snape is one of the teachers protecting the Stone! He's not about to steal it!"
"Wait what do mean one of the teachers?" Y/n asks
"Of course! There are other things defending the Stone, aren't there? Spells, enchantments" Hermione adds
"That's right. Waste of bloody time, if you ask me" Hagrid responds. "Ain't no one gonna get past Fluffy. Hehe, not a soul knows how. Except for me and Dumbledore. I shouldn't have told you that. I shouldn't have told you that" Hagrid shakes his head before the cauldron in the fire place crackles
Hagrid walks over to the cauldron and takes out an egg, placing it on a table
"Uh Hagrid? What exactly is that?" Harry asks pointing at the egg
"That? Its... well um" Hagrid pauses
"I know what that is! But Hagrid, how did you get one?" Ron exclaims
