Ch.19: Bonds

After classes had ended the students went to the Great Hall for dinner. When the four sat down they saw Draco was talking with Slytherin girls huddled up next to him

"Does it hurt terribly, Draco?" A girl asked

"It comes and goes" Draco says theatrically Still... I consider myself lucky. According to Madam Pomfrey, another minuteor two... and I could've lost the arm"

"This is incredibly stupid" Y/n said taking a bite out of his apple

"I agree. That little git's really laying it on thick isn't he?" Ron said agreeing with Y/n

"At least Hagrid didn't get sacked" Harry sighed in relief

"Yes but I hear Draco's father is furious. I don't think we've heard the end of this" Hermione said taking some of Y/n bread

"Hey!" He said with a bit of food in his mouth

"He's been sighted!" Seamus shouted getting the attention of students at the Gryffindor table

"Who?" Questioned Ron

Seamus laid a clippings article about Sirius Black and his recent whereabouts

"Achintee? That's not far from here..." Hermione said looking at Y/n then to Harry

"You don't think he'd come to Hogwarts do you?" Neville asked with a shaken voice

"But the Dementors are at every corner of the castle" said Lavender who got the gaze of Ron

"Dementors?" Scoffed Seamus. "He's already slipped by them once, hasn't he? Who's to say he can't do it again?"

"Seamus is right" Y/n said getting the attention of everyone. "I don't mean to scare anyone but if Sirius is capable of doing escaping Azkaban with those things guarding it, whose to say that he can't do the same getting here"

The following morning the students had their first Defense Against the Dark Arts class of the year with their new Professor

"Intriguing, yes?" Lupin smiled at the rattlinh wardrobe. "Would anyone like to venture a guess as to what's inside?"

"That's a Boggart that is" Seamus answered

"Very good, Mr. Finnigan. Can anyone tell us what a Boggart looks like?"

"No one knows" Hermione said

"Geez" Y/n said jumping as she answered. "You're gonna give me a heart attack" he said holding his chest

"When did she get here?" Ron asked Harry who shook his head and shrugged

"Boggarts are shape-shifters. They take the shape of whatever a particular person fears most. That's what makes it so-"

"Terrifying, yes. Luckily, a very simple charm exists to repel a Boggart. Let's practice it now, shall we? Without wands, please... Riddikulus!"

"Riddikulus" the students repeated

"Its this class that's ridiculous" Draco said to his lackeys who laughed

"Good. So much for the easy part. You see, the incantation alone is not enough" Lupin explained. "What really finishes a Boggart off is... laughter. You need to force it to assume a shape you find truly amusing. Neville, come up here, will you?"

Neville joins him in the end of the room

"What would is say is the thing that most frightens you?" Lupin asked

"Professor Snape" answered Neville in a quite voice

"What?" Lupin asked not hearing

"Professor Snape" Neville said louder
