~Connor's POV~:
"Sasha it was nothing!!! We did nothing!" Sasha and I were in a fight, about Bethany Mota. Sasha has always been paranoid about Beth. She always thinks that Bethany is going to steal her boyfriends. "Sasha that happened one time a few years ago with a different guy! I would never leave you for her!"

"Connor stop lying to me! I saw you two at the mall talking to each other. Bethany looked almost happy to see you." Sasha shook her head and paced around in frustration. "Why does she always do this to me?!?" I walked over and gently wrapped my arms around her, bringing her close to my heart. She stopped pacing and hugged me back tightly. "I don't want to lose you." She whispered into my ear softly, as is if she actually felt like she'd lose me.

~Bethany's POV~:
"Another day at this dreaded place." I was walking down the halls with Ian. Sure he is pretty evil but he's the only person in the school who will talk to me ,by choice, about anything other then "my work." I don't know why everyone references it like that but I don't know how to describe it either I guess.

"Hahaha. Yeah this place is a living hell." Ian shook his head and laughed at my comment, which really wasn't that funny. It was just relatable.

"Ian...why do you care about me? Nobody does so why do you?" I stopped in the hallway, turning to face him. He looked at me with his soft grey eyes that I've always admired. I'm not saying I admire him, just his eyes.

"That's exactly why Beth. Nobody sees you for your true self and I feel like you need someone who does. Bethany when I look at you I don't see all of the bad things. I see good things. The ones I've never seen but I'm pretty sure you've done. Bethany you need to stop being such a...bad girl...because the real you is a good one." His words felt smooth and honest. I was drifted into a place of comfort as he spoke.

That is when I gave in. I forgot about the pain he's caused me and just thought about how nice he's been for the past couple of days. I got closer to him and kissed him right in the middle of the hallway. People might think this is something else but I'm doing this out of free will...I wanted to kiss him.

The kiss wasn't a long one. It was relatively short but I needed to do it. Ian has been nothing but sweet lately and...wait. He's been nothing but sweet lately. I repeated that thought in my head over and over again. Ian's never been sweet before and ever since he hurt me I've made it a huge effort to avoid him as much as possible. If what I think is true then Ian wants something from me. Why else would he be so sweet? He has to be doing this for a reason...

His eyes showed happiness once I pulled away after, I repeat, the very short kiss. I pretended not to be thinking about his possible scheming. I looked away and grabbed my arm. Is this how girls act after they kiss a guy out of want instead of force? I have no idea. What I do know is that Ian is up to something and I'm going to figure it out.
