Then Where Am I

Regan pov

The nurse said that "I might not make it?" After she leaves the room I'm left with a depressed brother and boyfriend. My brother leans against the wall with his face in his hands.

"Jack look at me! I'm ok!" I try to explain but it's like he completely ignores me. Like I'm not there, in front of him.

I walk over the Shawn who is sitting in a chair sobbing and running his hands through his hair. "Baby look at me, I'm not dead." I try to explain hoping that Shawn would notice me. He didn't.

Jack pov

I can't believe it. My little sister might not make it. Tears begin to pour from my eyes as I rewind to a bunch of memories we shared.

*flashback to one of Regan's cheer comp.*

"I'm glad you were able to make it to Regan's last completion of the season." I smiled towards my dad. My mom, dad and I slid into our seats and I couldn't help but notice Dad with an upsetting look plastered onto his face.

"Unfortunately, this is the last one I'll be able to see." He says in a monotone voice. "Well yeah because the season is over." I try to explain. "No honey, your father is being deployed.....again" my mom then explains.

"I'm leaving tomorrow early morning." My dad says. "Does Regan know?" I questioned. My dad just shook his head. "You see the my little girl out there. Having the time of her life. Begin thrown into the air and tumbling across the blue mat?" He asked and looked up front to see Regan breezing through the routine with her teammates. She looked happy...

"I don't want to ruin her happiness. I want that to last as long as possible for her." My dad informed. "She's gonna find out one way or the other." I say trying to make a point.

"Oh there's my co worker. I'm going to go say hi real quick." My mom practically jumps from her seat and runs off. "What's up with her?" I questioned. I know my mother and she doesn't normally act like that.

"I rather not say. But when I leave, promise me you will watch over Regan for me?"

And after that, dad left the next day, early morning. Regan and I woke up to mom's little co worker sitting at the table with her and some papers on the counter. Regan and I went over the the papers and read them.

It was divorce papers and next to it was dad's name and mom's.

*end of flashback*

Shawn pov

"I cannot believe this is happening." I mumble while running my hands through my hair. What's magcon gonna be like now? She was supposed to be the new addition. We would have performed together, sing more duets, do more meet and greets. But that might all fade away...

Regan pov

They still refused to respond to me. As I noticed a nurse come into the room, I slid out the door and followed a couple more nurses into a surgery room. They were all surrounding someone trying to operate on them. Struggling to keep her alive.

One of the nurses moved and I saw the body.

"Am I really....."
