Chapter 70 – The Last Time, part 2

Published – April 7, 2020

Aww... I still miss my Monte. He was such a cute puppy. We don't deserve dogs. They are pure innocence.

Blaise held Hermione's hand as they followed as Professor McGonagall to her office. Ginny and Neville trailed behind, though Blaise wasn't sure why they were going there. She opened the door and was not surprised by the three people waiting: his mother, Madam Denkar and Bill Weasley. Blaise forgot it was Monday.

"Bill?" Ginny said and went over and hugged him, without letting go. Hermione stayed, gripping his hand for much-needed support. He honestly hadn't noticed how much they became friends in the past few weeks.

"What happened?" Bill asked.

"Sixteen expulsions in one day... that has to be a record," the headmistress said, dryly, sitting down.

"Actually, I expelled fifty students in one day!" cried a voice above them.

"That's because they laughed at you when you walked into the Great Hall without your trousers on," replied another headmistress.

"Enough!" she said, dismissively. "Blaise... I know I already asked you, but you are willing to officially make a complaint, right?"

"I will," he said, and Hermione squeezed his hand, knowing that it was a big leap for him.

"Do you think you can convince, Draco?"

"Maybe...."

"I don't think that will be an issue. If Blaise agrees to do it, Draco will speak, too," Denkar said.

Blaise squeezed Hermione's hand so hard that she winced. "Easy, Blaise," she hissed, not referring to his overly tight grip.

"That's not how it is, healer," he growled.

"Blaise... I expect you to treat your fellow staff member with respect," the headmistress scolded.

"Well, I expect her not to make assumptions in front of other people. She can experiment on me during my mandatory therapy sessions."

"My apologies, but I'm not wrong."

"You want to play games, healer? Go ask him before he knows my choice," he growled.

"Please... enough... Blaise will you convince him, if he does say no?" she asked.

"I will do as my conscious dictates and will promise nothing," he said, ambivalently.

Professor McGonagall nodded. "Is there anything else about SAD that you have neglected to tell me? Any more names?"

"No, they were the same. Dean told me who was in on the attacks over the last few weeks, but they were mostly there tonight. Dean's going to be the person to place the ones who didn't come tonight."

"And he didn't tell you about R-Mr. Weasley?" she said, pointedly.

"Draco all but did. Hermione ran into him beating up Draco in the loo on Friday, but they both denied it."

"And she chose not to report it?" she said, looking at Hermione.

"I might have hexed him..." she admitted.

"Mr. Weasley... I didn't think he would throw his life and family away like this," she said, disappointment hanging on her lips.

Ginny hadn't let go of Bill. As strong as she was, she loved her brother and needed comfort, too. "I'm going to break his nose, again, the next time I see him."
