"You never know what you have until you lose it, and once you lose it, you can never get it back".

Torrin’s P.O.V

“Wow…”

I was awestricken. The sound of water trickling filled my ears and the fresh water smell filled my lungs. The water was crystal blue, so clear that you could see the different colored pebbles in the shallow ends. The trees were further apart to let the sun, shine its last rays of warmth onto the lakes surface letting it glisten and reflect in my eyes. The air was hot but the sudden breezes were enough to make it comfortable. The sun was just setting making the sky twist and turn into different shades of oranges, pinks, and purples. It was beautiful.

“Looks like we came at the right time huh…” Bren said setting down his towel. We all nodded our heads. After setting up camp we decided to go swimming in the lake. After a few minutes of walking we came upon this.

“Well let’s go!” Sky screamed.

I laughed and ran down the hill with her. The lake had a little dock that I guess the guys built before and we jumped inside. The water was warm and it cleared my senses. I opened my eyes underwater to find Crispin staring at me with a grin. I smiled back. I guess he jumped in with us.

I couldn’t help but stare as his dark hair flowed around his head like some Greek God but I felt a pain in my chest. 'I need air' I thought stupidly. I rushed up to the top and took in a huge gulp. See that’s what I get for staring at Crispin! I’m so f**king stupid! Crispin popped up next to me and chuckled. “I’m guessing you’re not a mermaid huh?” He teased. I rolled my eyes and flashed water in his face.

“CANNON BALL B*TCHES!!!” Jeb, Tate and Mace yelled in sync while they jumped off the deck creating a huge wave to splash directly into my face. I spit out the water but I couldn't help but chuckle. Asher, Justin, Bren, Sky and the others took turns doing impossible backflips and dives into the water after them. Sky gestured for me to follow her into the deep end so I did. Surprisingly it was REALLY deep. I couldn’t even see the bottom, it was just dark. God I hope there’s not any da** snapping turtles or something in here with us.

“Bet I can swim faster than you Torrin!” Sky teased floating on her back, closing her eyes, trying to enjoy the sunshine.

“I’d like to see you try whore!” I replied pulling on her arm.

She lost balance and went under. I couldn’t help but bust out laughing when she came back to surface immediately flipping me off. We swam to the edge off the lake and put on hand on the bank. “Okay first one to the other side wins, got it” She said with a wicked gleam in her eye. I guess I was right…Sky does have a competitive side.

“Got it chief.” I mocked. She smiled and eyed the guys waiting for us on the other side, cheering.

“Ready…”

I narrowed my eyes and focused. Just because she’s competitive doesn’t mean I can be too.

“Set…”

The adrenaline kicked in and my heart was beating faster with excitement. I caught Crispin’s eye and he winked.

“GO!”

That’s was enough to put me overboard. Stupid hot guy. I dove further into the lake and worked my arms into water. Sky was right by my side not even paying attention to me. I kicked my legs sending splashes of water to retreat behind me.

I’ve always been good at anything physical. When I was in elementary, middle and high school (well for however long I was there) I was always the fastest runner, swimmer, and the best at all the sports. I was always picked first on the team.  I sound like such a gloating b*tch but it was the truth. I can’t help that. Teachers and coaches always thought it was weird since I was just a little, weak looking girl but if they saw me now, they’d understand.
