“Mama, Mama, help me get home

I'm out in the woods, I am out on my own.

I found me a werewolf, a nasty old mutt

It showed me its teeth and went straight for my gut.

Mama, Mama, help me get home

I'm out in the woods, I am out on my own.

I was stopped by a vampire, a rotting old wreck

It showed me its teeth and went straight for my neck.

Mama, Mama, put me to bed

I won't make it home, I'm already half-dead.

I met an Invalid, and fell for his art

He showed me his smile, and went straight for my heart.

“We have to go” Mace said staring directly at Crispin. Before I could turn around and look at his face, he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into his lap. He growled.

My mouth fell into an ‘o’ and I felt a shiver of fear go up my spine. I turned my head slightly to see his face. He was deep in thought, with his eyebrows furrowed, eyes set tight on the small fire and his lips were in a straight line. He would nod every once in a while like someone was talking to him, but when I would look around, everyone had the same expressions…even Sky.

Where they listening to someone?

If so, why couldn’t I hear it?

Where the h*ll did Mace come from?

Why didn’t I notice he was gone before?

So many questions…but so little answers.

But one question was dominate…Why in the h*ll do we have to go?

I looked directly at Mace and asked, “Why?” Immediately their heads whipped in my direction and I felt as if I was the stupidest person in the world. Like it was obvious. Well f*ck how was I supposed to know?! They then turned towards Mace waiting for his explanation. His face was blank, but in his eyes I could see he was thinking…hard. Getting impatient like the person I am I droned out, “Weell….?” He blinked his eyes coming back to reality and cleared his throat like some stuck up business man.

“We have to leave because I just got off the phone with my dad and he said that the mayor was coming into town in a few days and that we needed to prepare for his arrival.”

I looked at him skeptically though I found no flaw that he was lying, so I nodded my head.

“Why was he gone in the first place?”

He cleared his throat once again. “He was in a business meeting out of state.”

Well that make since because there’s nothing f*cking near this God forsaken place. Tate then clapped his hands together, “Well, let’s get packing!”

We then began to put out the fire, gather the food supplies, repack our bags and fold up the tents. Of course Crispin wouldn’t let me do a thing and packed our stuff and the tent by himself. I would’ve complained, but I really liked the view of him shirtless.

“You guys ready?!” Mace yelled while putting the last of the supplies in the jeep. Responses of “Yeah” and “Almost” were yelled back. While Crispin lugged our things to the jeep, I sat on one of the logs while making pictures into the dirt with a twig.
