26 - Is That A Yes?

Jihyo POV

Kang Daniel and I are sitting on the bench. We are eating our food without saying anything to each other. When I finish eating I look at him motioning for him to start talking.

"What did you have to tell me?" I ask.

Daniel and I are friends. Not best friends, just friends. That's why it surprised me when he said he needed to talk to me alone about something serious. He has never asked me to talk to me about something serious. And we're never alone, because the only times we're together, our other friends are always there.

That's why I told Nayeon and Jeongyeon about it. What did they say? The same thing anyone would say: "He's going to confess"

However, they gave me reasons why I should believe it and now I can't stop thinking about it.

"First of all, he cares a lot about you" Jeongyeon said giving reason number one.

But friends care about each too, right?

"Do you remember Valentine's Day last year?" I nodded. "And you received an anonymous letter. They say it was him"

"How do you know it was not someone else?"

"It's obvious, Jihyo" Jeongyeon said. "When you were talking about the letter I saw him blushing"

"And do you know why he blushed?" I shook my head. "Because it was him who sent the letter to you."

Although it didn't make sense I have never denied what they said about Daniel.

"I want to tell you something" Daniel says with a smile. "Can you promise you won't hate me after?"

"Why would I hate you?" I ask confused. "It's not like you killed someone. Or did you?"

"I didn't kill someone" He laughs. "It's something else and I know you know it"

Do I know?

I look away and feel his hands on mine.

"Is it that obvious?" He asks me and I look at him again.

"What?"

"That I love you"

I laugh nervous.

What am I going to tell him now? I can't because I like someone else, a straight girl.

"I don't know if you feel the same about me" He smiles. "But I would like to ask you on a date, Jihyo"

I stay in silence again.

"Is that a yes?" Daniel asks confused. "I can't understand you if you don't communicate with me"

I like someone else, Daniel.

No, I can't say that.

Maybe I could give him a chance. Tzuyu doesn't like me anyway. But wouldn't it be too bad? No.

It would be bad if I insisted on being with Tzuyu. Tzuyu is straight and straight girls don't date another girls. Besides that, she's in love with Han Jisung.

"I can go on a date with you" I say and he smiles. "But if this doesn't work, let's just be friends" He nods.
