CHAPTER 11

The house was nothing to be admired. It wasn't even Jason's type of neighborhood, but he never judged where she stayed. Cautiously he walked up to the door, taking off his shades as he did so hesitantly knocking on the door. An older man answered with a shotgun in his hand ready to shoot Jason at any small step. "Who are you?" The man asked looking Jason in the eyes. Jason wasn't afraid of the man he assumed was Diamond's father. "I'm sorry to come here unannounced. I need to speak with Diamond."

"You're Jason?" He nodded. The man placed his gun down. "Come in, she's expecting you." Confused Jason entered the house. "She knew I was coming?" The man placed his gun down. "She knew once the lawyer's received the paperwork one of you Sanders men would show up. I was expecting the older Sanders, but she tells me you are alright. She's in here." The man walked into the living room.

As he turned the corner he saw Diamond for the first time in years. His heart wanted to break at the sight of her in the wheelchair. "Diamond, I'm...I didn't..." he didn't know what to say as he stared down at a woman he once considered a friend. She was tall and beautiful with long red hair and light skin, but now she sat crippled in a wheelchair. Neither Melissa nor Dan told him about this. "It's ok Jason. Sit." She gestured for him to sit on the couch as she rolled in front of him.

"They didn't tell you, did they?" he grabbed her hands holding them together. "I'm sorry they didn't. I would've come sooner if I would've known. I can't believe the fall did this much damage. I see why you want to sue for so much." Diamond pulled away slowly. "It's not why Jason." She said. "They offered to take care of everything. I just refused because I don't want their money. They want me to disappear and act as If I never existed."

"Diamond, Melissa, and Dan are out for blood. You should've just taken the money." She frowned. "No! I knew you wouldn't have understood. Melissa pushed me. She tried to kill me and make it look like some kind of accident all because she wanted to break the rules and sleep with Dan and Dan has some vendetta against me because I wouldn't sleep with him." Jason's eyes squinted. "Melissa said you fell while trying to grab her. That it was an accident."

Diamond scoffed. "It was no accident. She pushed me. Is she really working there now as your secretary? You let her have my job?" Jason swallowed the lump in his throat hard. "Dan wanted her to work out the cost of paying for your expenses. That was his reasoning."

"He is only keeping her close so he can fuck her whenever he wants." Jason shrugged. "I don't know what kind of deal they have going on, but I hate this happened to you."

"Melissa wanted to be the only one. That's all she kept saying to me. She wanted both of you. Jason..." she grabbed his face, staring right into his eyes. "Dan and Melissa are out for blood Jason. I'm going after the company because of them. That place is evil and I only allowed you here is because I know you're a victim like me. That place is evil Jason. Women will continue to go crazy for dick and get hurt in the process. The company is not helping anyone. Think of the families that you have ruined. I need to save them. I need to save you." Jason wanted to object but then pondered over her words.

Tracy's eye popped into his mind and Abagail's disrespect for her husband, but then he thought about Amy and James. "Many women have corrupted my services because they are being unfaithful, but I have helped a lot of women." Diamond sighed. "Jason you have helped me and my family in more ways than one. I appreciate it. That is why I hate to hurt you in this way, but that business you continue to prostitute yourself in needs to be deleted from this world or more people will get hurt. It has to start with that devil Dan first."

Jason couldn't argue, it was Dan's entire fault. He caused so much hurt for other people, not only his children. Jason touched her leg, wishing he was some healer to cure her. "Dan won't stop coming for you. You know that. Are you prepared for the backlash you will receive?" He hoped she was because there was no stopping Dan once he was on a mission to destroy someone's life.

Alyssa paced the floor of her apartment, anxious about the text Jason had sent her that morning. Regardless of her attitude he still wanted to tell her to have a good day and that he hoped it wasn't over between them. She didn't want it to be over. Her mind told her to run more so to protect her heart. Feelings for him would be forever complicated and she didn't even understand why.

Probably because her love now was not some celebrity she secretly wanted and crushed on from a distance. Jason was up close and personal. Her mind had been super distracted at work and she just wanted to go home and ball up on the couch. On a normal day that's exactly where she'd be, but today she was up pacing the floor trying to make a decision. She decided a quick text would be alright. "Hey. I hope ur day is going well. Still processing the fashion show."

Jason took his phone out of his pocket with a smile as her name popped up. After everything that happened, a simple reply from her made his day. Diamond noticed. "Jason, are you seeing someone?" She asked shocked, covering her mouth. "Maybe. Not sure of the dynamics of our relationship yet." He stood from the couch. "I have to go." He leaned in and hugged her. "I'm really sorry Diamond. I will try my best to help you with whatever you need." She smiled, slowly releasing his arms as he stood and walked out of the house.

He texted Alyssa once he got back to the car. "My day has been hell, but you have made it so much better. Don't run from this Alyssa." She stared back quickly, waiting for the response as her heart jumped in anticipation. A huge smile appeared on her face that only Jason could put there. If he was playing a game he sure as hell was playing it well. She made up her mind she was going to the fashion show with him, for him.
