CHAPTER 13
Things began to look up for Jason as he went into his new workday with high hopes. Business as usual with his clients and barely talking to Melissa, which killed her. The only thing that could ruin his day now was if Alyssa changed her mind about attending the fashion show tomorrow. Friday seemed to go by fast as his mind was occupied on the events that happened in the past and his future.
He would make things right now. No more hiding and no more secrets. As he entered his home he received a text from Alyssa. "I haven't changed my mind. I'm coming I promise." He smirked as he replied. "Yes, you will be." With a smiley face emoji. Then another text popped up from Yolanda. He sighed as he walked back to the elevator. Yolanda and Valerie sat in the lobby waiting for him.
"What are you two doing here? I didn't see you guys on the schedule today." Valerie stood wrapping her designer scarf around his neck. "We came as a visit, not as one of your clients. We need to get you fitted into a suit to wear tomorrow. No guest of honor of mine will be left out on our designs." Yolanda explained, laughing at Valerie as she danced on Jason. "Oh right." He saw some suits behind them sitting in the chair with wraps to keep them clean. "Let's go upstairs. You guys are lucky I have time now."
He grabbed the suits to carry them up the stairs. As he walked by Melissa's desk as she still worked, he caught that evil look in her eye as he glanced over. "Melissa you can leave for the day. All the appointments are done." He said, placing his arm on the counter. She stood abruptly, grabbing her bag. "Melissa, you alright?" Valerie asked walking up to the counter. "I'm fine Val," Melissa replied through clenched teeth.
"You don't have to be a bitch, Melissa, she was just making sure you were ok." Yolanda stepped in for her woman, taking a step forward to launch if she had to. "I said I'm fine. I'm sorry if I'm coming off as rude." She glanced at Jason one last time before she walked out the door. "I never liked that bitch. What happened to Diamond? That chick knew a little something about being humble." Yolanda informed Jason as they continued to walk to the elevator. The thought of Diamond made Jason go quietly.
"She just um..." He cleared his throat from the emotion threatening to choke him. "She just had a rough day that's all. Friday's are my busiest days." He didn't feel the need to take up for Melissa but didn't want them asking any questions he couldn't answer so he had to. "I don't see you acting like that though," Valerie argued, pointing towards Melissa's desk. Jason chuckled. "No, I guess I wouldn't. All I do is have sex all day. Nothing too stressful there." They agreed then, nodding their heads.
They entered Jason's penthouse in awe. "Wow. I don't think we've ever been up here in all our years of knowing you." Jason turned to them amazed. "Really?" He hadn't realized that they'd never been up to his penthouse. Nobody really did. When did he become such a recluse? "Want something to drink?" He asked them, walking towards the kitchen. They nodded and he took out three glasses to pour some wine. "So will this mystery date be attending the Fashion Show?" Valarie asked, excited.
Jason couldn't help, but smile. "She said yes." They screamed as if he told them he was getting married. "That's great news! I can't wait to meet her." Jason handed them the wine. "Not sure if that's a good idea." He said, sitting on the couch. Yolanda pouted. "Why not?" Jason took a sip of his wine. "I have sex with you two. She isn't the most confident woman and she already feels some kind of way about what I do. Meeting you guys might look more like a slap in the face. Understand?"
"But we are the only women in the whole world that don't want you in that way. Sex is fun with you, but we have fun with dildos just as well." Valerie replied sipping on her drink. "We would never be disrespectful to her. Besides if she is your date we have to give her a dress as well and do her hair!" Valerie and Yolanda squealed like little school girls. "Can't believe Jason has a girlfriend!" Jason laughed at them. "Let's get this done first. I will ask her about all that tomorrow."
He stood grabbing some of the suits. He undressed and began trying them on. He began to text Alyssa in the meantime as they talked about everything from her favorite color to her favorite foods, everything about her intrigued him. He never had any friends like this or any relationship. Nothing about his life was normal. He smiled at her text. "Jason?" He looked up at Yolanda, realizing she was right in his face.
"Do you like this one? Did you hear me?" He placed his phone down a little embarrassed by their goofy grin. "Texting the girlfriend? You're awfully distracted."
"Sorry. I do like this one. I will take a picture and send it to get her opinion." He placed his phone on him and took the selfie.
*******
Alyssa laid on her bed chewing on her nail as she reopened Jason's picture in his tuxedo. He was truly the sexiest man in her eyes. Now how would she compare to that? She sighed, pinching some rolls on her stomach. She couldn't. Plain and simple. His body was absolute perfection. She didn't know how she was going to survive this Fashion show. "You look so beautiful." She read all his texts over and over as a confidence booster. He didn't know how it made her feel, but she loved all the sweet messages.
She got off the couch ready to meet Jason at his place before going to the fashion show. Jason was waiting for her in the lobby along with two other beautiful women. She gasped as her insecurities were surely going to take her over. They walked up to greet her. "Oh my gosh, she is beautiful." One of them hugged her tight. "I'm Valerie and this is my wife Yolanda." The other woman kissed her cheek.
"Jason you found yourself a keeper. Let's get you made up for our fashion show." Then everything started making sense. "Oh. Nice to meet you. I'm Alyssa Sampson." She waved. Jason walked up kissing her on the forehead. "Don't be afraid of them. Valerie and Yolanda are the best of the best when it comes to makeup and clothing."
"That's right. Come on." Yolanda grabbed her hands and pulled her into the elevator. Jason followed behind them as the girls became acquainted with Alyssa. "We have the perfect dress for you." Valerie squealed, excited. Alyssa didn't seem that excited. "Will it fit me?" Yolanda and Valerie both laughed at her comment. "We make dresses for all sizes Alyssa especially, for the big hipped women like you."
Yolanda grabbed Valerie kissing her on the lips in front of Alyssa. She turned awkwardly. Jason pulled her close from behind, caressing her as his friends made out. "Forgive them they are the true definitions of free spirits." He turned her around to look at him. "I see that doubt in your eyes again. What's wrong?" He placed his hand on her chin.
"Just feeling a bit overwhelmed about the people who will be judging me at this show. I'm..." She waved her hands at herself, gesturing about her size. "And you're..." She waved at him up and down. "You know what I'm saying?" She asked as he laughed. "No, I don't. I'm air and you are wind?" Her head tilted trying to stop the smile from appearing on her face. "I mean we are complete opposites. People would expect you to be with someone like them."
She turned to Valerie and Yolanda who were now watching her. "Now, now Miss Alyssa. We will not have that kind of talk. This society is flawed and looks down on others to make themselves feel better. Don't believe them. Beauty is within." They grabbed her hand and walked her to a chair for her to sit so they can start on her makeup. She looked back at Jason for help but he only had a smirk on his face. "We only have a couple of hours to get you ready so let's make you Cinderella."
