Trigger warning: Angst, crying, and forced separation.
Also just read ATUS so the watchers are sorta inspired by that.

Grian's POV
"T-Taurtis?" I could barely speak, how was he here? He went missing a few versions ago, I honestly thought he was dead. Yet here was, he looked liked a mess though. His black hair was all over the place, he had a couple holes in his shirt and a giant tare was on his pants right over his left knee. I stood up as sadness took over me.
"Taurtis where have you been?!? Everyone thinks you died or got stuck in an old update! I.. I was so worried about you and I thought that maybe we left you behind and I-" I was cut off by Taurtis grabbing me and pulling me into a hug. He was crying.

"Grian I'm... I'm so sorry," He sobbed out. I couldn't hold back my own tears anymore, I hugged him back.

"I missed you so much"

We stood there for a moment holding onto each other, just enjoying the fact that we were finally together again. After awhile, I took a step back and sat down. I invited Taurtis to sit next to me which he did. I wiped the leftover tears from my eyes.

"Soooo... how did you end up here?" I asked, he signed in response.

"I... followed the watcher clues and got to the portal like I usually did, but it was... different. It seemed darker than the last time but I thought it was just the lighting so I went through it and then BOOM! I ended up here... by myself," he turned to face me. "What about you?"

"Well," I started, trying to summarize what had happened in the past few hours. "To keep it short, I killed the ender dragon and-"

"Wait wait wait, THE ENDER DRAGON?!?" I looked over to see Taurtis with his mouth wide open. I couldn't help but laugh.

"Yeah, you mad bro?" I snickered and he stuck his tongue out at me.

Our silly conversations continued for a bit. I caught him up on all the happenings with the server, and he made references to stuff that happened while he was still in the server.

And for a moment, we forgot that we were in the middle of the void.

But all good things come to an end.

A loud noise was heard, interrupting our conversation. We both turned around to see a bright light and two large silhouettes in that light. They both to seem to have a large pair of wings.

It was them, the Watchers.

Taurtis's eyes filled with fear as soon as he saw them. It seemed as this wasn't the first time he had encountered them. He stood up quickly and grabbed my hand to pull me up. Once I was up we were both frozen with fear.

One watcher took a step forward and before we could more or try to run, both Taurtis and I were engulfed in a purple flame like magic. We started to rise above the ground. I reached out to Taurtis but we were pulled away from each other by the magic. The Watcher then walked in between us.

"You," it pointed at Taurtis, "Are going to your next world as technically you weren't supposed to be in that world in the first place. Yet somehow you were able to get there thanks to your friend." I was very confused and so was Taurtis. He wasn't supposed to be in EVO in the first place? Then why was he able to get in? Then it hit me.
The summoning platform.

"Wait, so are you saying that I somehow bent the rules to get him into EVO with the summoning platform?" I asked quietly. The Watched turned to me.

"Exactly. Which is why I have an extreme interest in you. You brought a player into a different world then the one they were supposed to go to." It stopped for a moment then gave a small chuckle. "You have potential to be a great asset to us, therefore you will become one of us." Before I could even think about what that meant, I heard Taurtis yell.

"GRIAN LOOK OUT!" I quickly turned around to see the other watcher holding a purple mask with the Evo symbol imprinted on it. I tried to run but the magic kept me from moving. I was lifted closer to the other Watcher so it could but the blindfold on me. It gave a horrible laugh.

I turned back to face the other watcher and Taurtis. I couldn't escape it no matter how hard I tried. I didn't know what was going to happen when that mask was put on my face. I could suddenly turn evil or I could go through a lot of pain from gaining all that power. Millions of thoughts of possibilities were flying through my head. I sighed and accepted my unknown fate. I looked at Taurtis, who was trying to escape from the magic.

"Taurtis," I paused and he looked at me. "please, for the love of God, don't forget me," I pleaded. Taurtis looked at me with tears and rage in his eyes.

"No," he looked at the watchers, "you can't take him away I JUST GOT HIM BACK!" He yelled. I looked down, tears filling my eyes. The first Watcher turned to face him.

"I'm getting sick of you, put the mask on that one, I'll take care of this one." Taurtis' eyes went wide.

"Wait No-" he was cut off by a giant portal suddenly appearing behind him and it started pulling him into it.

"Taurtis," I looked up at him, tears streaming down my face, "promise you won't forget me."

"I promise."

The watcher slipped the mask over my eyes.

As soon as the mask went over my eyes, I seemed to be trapped in my own head. Large amounts of power flowed through me. My body was on auto pilot doing something completely different then what I told it. I couldn't control myself anymore. I could still see through the mask, but I didn't want to see what I saw.

And what I saw was Taurtis screaming out to me as he was pulled almost completely into the portal. I wanted to break free and save him. I wanted all of this to stop. I wanted to go back to the server. I wanted to go back to the time when we were happy.

But all I could do was stand there and watch my best friend get torn away from me.
