"Alright Ruff, you take care, get well soon." I told Ruffnut before hanging up the call.
I heaved a sigh. Ruffnut isn't feeling well today so she called me that she won't be able to come to class today.
"Looks like I'll be on a solo mode today." I say to myself, slipping my phone inside my pant pocket.
When I arrive in the classroom it's almost occupied. I found Hiccup busy on his phone with headphones on. I went to my seat and put my bag on the table, taking out a notebook and rip a page from it and write the words THANK YOU in bold letters on it and folded it in half.
I'm about to give the paper to Hiccup when Snotlout calls my attention.
"Say Astrid, you still don't have a date for prom right?" He asks, a proud grin on his face.
"Why do you ask?" I ask him.
"Be my date, I promise you'll have the best night of your life." He say, licking his lips.
I could feel my skin hair stand on end because of disgust. This guy really gives me the creeps and he annoys me to the bone. Since he got dumped by his ex girlfriend he started hitting on me, trying to get my attention.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Snotlout, he just annoys me so much I can't stand him.
"Sorry Jeorgenson I'm going solo." I told him with a smile and turn away from him.
I then face Hiccup and about to give my note but he's already looking at me with his famous blank face.
"Oh um...hi!" I greet him with a nervous smile. Who wouldn't be nervous with that look on his face, so cold and mysterious.
"You're going to the prom alone?" He asks.
I nod my head slowly, "Yes...is there a problem?"
"Nothing." He says plainly. "And you don't have to thank me or the others, it's our job and responsibility."
"Oh...okay."
The classes went on so quickly that I didn't notice it's already lunch.
I'm sitting at mine and Ruffnut's usually place in the cafeteria but this time I'm alone. I don't really have that much friends in school, I don't even know if some of those people I consider friends take me as the same.I twisted slowly the already cold pasta I ordered before putting it inside my mouth. I tasted the slightly sweet tomato sauce as it spreads inside my mouth, the soft pasta grinds in between my teeth so easily.
I wasn't this focused on eating, I don't even know I could feel the food in my mouth when I concentrate. Maybe I'm just bored without Ruffnut to keep my company with her gossips and chats about her crushes.
"Mind if we join you?" Someone suddenly sits down in front of me. I look to to see Elsa smiling sweetly at me.
"Oh...no it's okay." I say.
Jack and Hiccup came after, pulling the nearby table and connecting it to ours, "We're sitting here with you too." Says Jack. I notice that cat he puts on his lap, it looks at me with a grumpy look on its chubby face, and slightly sticks out its tongue at me.
