In the morning I wake up very early to practice for my special power, but I didn't feel motivated to do it and decided to check on Daehan.
He's already awake when I get inside his room, babbling to himself while shaking a rattle."Hey little guy." I say, picking him up from his crib and give him a kiss on his cheek. "Who are you talking to, huh?"
Daehan keeps babbling like he's answering to me. I laugh while listening to his cute voice trying to say something.
"Why don't you try saying "Mama" okay?" I say, setting him down on the floor.
I hold both his tiny hands and keep saying "Mama" until he's copying the sound of the word.
"M-Mm...Ma...Mamm..." He babbles.
"Come on Daehan, say it." I say, encouraging him. "Say Mama."
Daehan gave me a cute face and just smiles.
"Grrr! You're so cute!" I say, trying not to bite his chubby cheek.
"Hey, you're up early."
I look over my shoulder to see Hiccup looking all fancy in a black suit.
"Where are you going Dada?" I say, imitating a baby's voice while holding out Daehan to him.
Hiccup chuckles, "Dada is going to work today." He say, taking his son and gives him a kiss.
"Work?" I ask.
"Dad wants me to go with him to his office," he say. "But I'll be home in the afternoon."
"Oh I see." I say. "Goodluck on work today."
"Thank you." He say with a smile.
Calm down heart. Get used to it.
I often notice that Hiccup's been smiling lately, unlike back in Mildew that he rarely smiles, and have that cold face that makes me shiver every time he shoots me a look.
"You don't mind watching over Daehan today, do you?" He ask handing his son back to me.
"Of course not," I say. "Daehan and Mama will have a good time together while Dada is away, right?" I lightly pinch Daehan's cheek which made him squeal and put his arms around my neck.
Hiccup smiles, "Then I'm not going to worry, if Mama is watching over Daehan today."
Our eyes suddenly meet when I look straight at his face. Something inside me warms up when I see his clear green eyes that look like green diamonds as the light that comes out of the window hits his face. He looks like a prince straight out of a fairy tale, especially in that black suit that really looks good on him.
"Anyway, I have to go." Hiccup say.
"Aren't you going to have breakfast?" I ask.
He shakes his head, "No, I'll be going early, and I'll have breakfast there." He say. He suddenly comes close and leans down a bit like he's about to give me a kiss but stopped halfway and pulls back, clearing his throat and avoiding eye contact.
"Well...uh... I'll be going now." He say and leaves like he's in a hurry.
Shoot. Is Hiccup about to kiss me?
Why didn't he do it!?
Stop it Astrid! Don't be so dramatic, he's not going to kiss you!
"Mama."
I'm suddenly pulled back to reality, my eyes widen when I realize what I just heard.
I look at Daehan who's leaning his head on my shoulder while biting his thumb.
