Chapter 12

Daniel's POV:-
I woke up in the morning by a knock on my door and called out to the person to come in. The door opened and in came one of my personal servants, holding an envelope in his hand.

He bowed down to me and handed me the letter.

"Sire. Mr. Zach Herron left you this letter. I found it in his room. And it has been addressed to you. So I thought it best to bring it to you straight away", he said lifting his head a little.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. Why had Zach left me a letter?

"Thank you, Fulmar", I said smiling at him."You may leave now".

"Very well, my lord", he said nodding his head. He bowed and left the room quickly.

I sighed as I opened the letter and my eyes widened as they scanned it, reading what had been written on it.

Shit, Zach left. I was angry now. I hadn't noticed my parents giving Zach a cold shoulder. How had I not noticed that?

I got up from my bed, gripping the letter in my hand and stomped down the stairs.

"Nathan?", I called out to one of the servants after I had searched the castle and hadn't found my parents.

"Yes, Your highness", he answered bowing his head.

"How many times do I have to tell you?", I said softly."Call me Daniel".

"Sorry your high...I mean Daniel", he said.

I smiled slightly.

"Have you seen my parents Nathan?", I asked him.

"The king and queen have gone out for a ride, Sire", he said. I shook my head at him. He would never stop calling me that. Even though he was like 15 years older than me.

"They'll be back shortly", he continued.

"Okay. Let me know when they get back", I said while walking to the stairs.

"But", I continued turning around."Don't come all the way up to my room yourself. Send someone else. I don't want your back to hurt you again".

"Very well, Sire", he said bowing his head.

"Nathan", I said laughing.

"Sorry", he said his face breaking into a grin.

I made my way upstairs and back to my room, collapsing on the bed. For the next fifteen minutes, I was pretty much preoccupied with thoughts running through my mind. Where had Zach gone? Why didn't he tell me anything? Why would he just leave like that? Didn't he care? Did he think I didn't care? I was shaken out of my thoughts by a knock on my door.

"Come in", I said sighing.

"Sire. The king and queen have arrived and are waiting for you downstairs", a young servant named Colin said from the door.

"Thank you Colin", I replied."Tell them I'm on my way".

"As you wish, Your Majesty", and with that he bowed and went downstairs.

I got up and went downstairs after grabbing the letter.

"Yes son?", my father said once he saw me come in."You wanted to talk to us".

I gritted my teeth and handed him the letter. He read it with wide eyes handing it over to my mother.

"He left", I said glaring at them."Because of you guys. Because he thought he was a burden. Why would you make him feel that way? Why did you ignore him? Why..?", I stopped choking on a sob. My heart was completely broken.

"We're sorry son", he started"But he was a bad influence".

"Bullshit", I said glaring at him."Tell me the real reason why you wanted him to leave. Is he an orphan that's why? Is he a common subject for you? Is that it? Is he not capable of staying at the castle? What is it?".

"Dani", my mother said approaching me and placed her hand on my shoulder."Calm down".

"No", I said shaking off her hand."I'm going to find him and no one is going to stop me".

"Son. Focus", my father said strictly."You have a wedding to plan. You're getting married to Princess Pam soon".

"I don't care", I said."Cancel the wedding. I don't want to marry Pam".

"You will marry Pam no matter what you say", my father said raising his voice.

"I won't", I replied determined."I'm going to find Zach and marry him. I love him".

I saw my father's expression turn from angry to shocked and I glanced at my mother. I could swear I saw a smiled on her face but it was gone after a split second. It confused me but I didn't care.

I glared at my father one last time, who still stood there shocked, and stormed out of the room upto my bed, getting stuff ready to go find Zach.

I was determined and nothing was going to stop me.
