Chapter 13

Zach's POV:-
I had been walking for hours when it suddenly started to get dark. I quickly took shelter underneath a tree and pulled Ryan and Reese closed to me. At that moment I wished dearly that my parents were still alive because I wasn't ready to cope with this on my own. Yet, I didn't want to be a burden on someone else. It was really difficult for me.

I sighed and closed my eyes. I felt Reese sit up and I opened my eyes.

"You okay there?", I asked her softly.

"Yeah. Just thirsty", she answered.

"Okay. Let's go get some water", I said

The three of us, me, Ryan and Reese got up. We walked a little then I had an idea.

"Okay. How about we split up guys?", I said."Then it'll be easier for us to find a stream or well and whoever finds it first can yell to the others to come there".

"Great idea. Big bro", Ryan said."Let's go".

And so we all spilt up. A minute later, I heard a scream and ran towards it knowing it was Reese who had screamed. But when I came where I had heard the scream, I saw nothing and before I knew it. I felt hands on my eyes and mouth and I blacked out.

I woke up in a dark room, feeling a sharp pain in my wrists as I was tightly tied up. There there was only a dim light coming from somewhere. As soon as I adjusted to the light though, I could see around the room and realized that it was a basement. I further looked around and saw Ryan and Reese both tied up but they were sleeping. I tried to scoot towards them, trying to get closer but it was difficult with the bonds. I decided to try to test the bounds to see if I could loosen them but before I could, I heard coming from somewhere upstairs. Probably the kidnapper was back to check on us.

The door to the basement opened fully and a bright light flooded inside. Someone walked down the stairs and I heard a familiar voice call out to me.

"Hello Zach. So we meet again", it said.

My eyes widened and I looked towards the person I thought I'd never see again. At that moment I wished dearly that I hadn't left the protection of Daniel and hadn't run away from the castle.
