PROLOGUE

A cool  breeze whipped around me, as I stood in a dark alley behind an old abandoned shoe shop. I could feel the cold air nipping at my bare skin as I stood there staring at my surroundings. Bins lining the walls and ripped clothes hung above my head, swaying gently with the wind. The dark sky, creating shadows on the walls and the smell of stale beer filled the air, making the back of my throat burn.

I walked down the alley, looking for anything that could tell me where I was or how I'd gotten here but the whole place was abandoned. by the looks of the shops and houses this place had been abandoned for quite a while. My heart was racing and the fear inside me was growing the further I walked.

A figure stepped out of the shadowed street corner across the road from me, I could feel the fear creeping up my spine as the shadow watched me, his cat like eyes never looking away until he vanished into the shadows. I walked further along the road, keeping my head down trying not to draw any unwanted attention to myself.

The sky was getting darker, the stars where starting to come out and the only light i had was coming from a small street lamp that looked like it had been around for years. Rubbish covered floor, smashed bottles and food rappers littered every inch and the strong smell of urine filled the air making me feel sick with every breath i took.

As i walked further down the road i kept hearing the faint sound of footsteps behind me but each time i looked around i found nothing there, images of a man kept flashing through my mind, a shiny knife in his hand getting ready to attack me. I saw a shadow move out of the corner of my eye but no one jumped out so i kept moving. I pushed the images of the man to the back of my mind and told my self i just needed to keep moving. I needed to find someone who could help me but the whole town seemed to be abandoned. All the shop windows where boarded up and there where abandoned cars all over the road, as if everyone had just gotten up one morning and left, not even bothering to take there things.

Night was closing in quickly, i had managed  to walk around most of the streets but i hadn't found anyone. I now stood in the middle of the main street, small houses surrounded me and a couple of abandoned shops lined the side-walk on my right but there was no indication that anyone was here or had been for awhile. A sharp sound pierced through the night like something was being killed. I did a full circle but found nothing, i covered my ears. the sound was making me dizzy and little black dots kept popping in my vision.

From the corner of my eye i saw dark figures step out from behind the houses, they started walking towards me; wearing long black capes with hoods that hung over their face's, but i could still make out their cat like eyes, gleaming yellow from under the darkness of their hoods. Just like the figure i had seen earlier.

They all stopped just short of me, their eyes locked onto me. I saw a figure move from behind them, making it's way towards me. I panicked, looking round for a place to run to but i was surrounded, they had made a full circle around me blocking all exits. The dark figures parted as the strange man walked towards me, his bony hands sticking out from his sleeves and his eyes focusing on nothing but me.

I froze in panic as he made his way towards me, my heart racing in my chest. He stopped in front of me, a huge grin plastered to his face. Before i could even react, he stepped forwards and rapped his bony hand around my neck, lifting me off the ground with ease. I clawed at his hand and tried to kick him but after struggling against him for what felt like ages my body finally gave up and i just hung there limp, his bony hand the only thing holding me up. Only when the world around me had all but faded did he finally let me go. He dropped me to the ground and i felt my whole body crumble beneath me. The cold, wet ground seeping through my clothes, leaving a chill on my skin as the whole world turned black and everything went quiet.
