40: Well That Turned Out Well

Six months have passed since my visit to the 1940s, and a lot has happened since.

First, I secretly revived Sapphire and we talked stuff over. She revealed to me that we are cousins, and she plans to return home to claim her throne. We keep in contact and because she can manipulate time I am her other half manipulating space. We keep in contact, I inform her of what's going on here and we're brainstorming ideas for the current problem.

Second, The Quarters Heart were disbanded a week after Sapphire's 'death', Cheetah went AWOL three weeks after, and Shadow relocated to Europe to live the life of a civilian.

Third, I'm still stuck doing all these stupid errands for the Villains.

Fourth, in the past two months heroes have been going missing, they're blaming it on the villains, but I've been looking around and villains are going missing faster, meaning there is outside interference.

Fifth, I have a feeling, I'll be needing to leave soon, so I've been setting down roots. Building a persona for Gracelyn Reign. Buying a couple of buildings, establishing school records, pictures in the yearbook, meeting people, leaving impressions and such.

Sixth, I made a new friend named Aidan Malice. He's great, but quite a bit older than me, he's 20 attending Gotham University for Business and is currently an intern at Wayne Enterprises. Because he came from a really rich family, he helped set up all my plans for the future. He's my best friend next to Sapph-I mean Eliana, and is just like a brother. He knows literally everything about me. He explained that he's actually just like my dad, a protector from my home planet sent to guard me, so he actually knows more about me than I do.

Seventh, Eliana saved Wally, he's completely fine. She quite literally dragged him by his ear through time to come back and live as he was supposed to. They keep in contact now that they know they are siblings but they bicker just like an old married couple, it's very frustrating.

Eighth, finally, I've been scouting.

On the past couple of solo missions, I've been all over meeting heroes and villains alike while also running into the blasted Young Justice.

One was in Paris, sadly I had to uphold my bet with the ever graceful Dick, and ran up the stairs of the Eiffel Tower. On my way up I passed a girl climbing with a grappling hook to the top, when I asked her what she's doing, she jumped startled by my presence, I let her be. Once at the top she basically just solved the entire problem with no one noticing her. She finally left with the final word, "Invisible Woman, I was here all along". Laughing, I noted her information for a later date.

Once in Star City, I met up with Damian Darhk's gang, and had the fortune of meeting his daughter Dayna. Who, lovingly went by Mob Boss, who wasn't all too confident with her position although she loved her father. She was sent out to work with me and we took down the protectors of Star City.

Another time she met up with an Assassin for the lovely Amanda Waller named Lianne, who insisted being called Katana. She impressed me, with her skill taking out her hits, and wrote her on the list of possibilities.

One time in the northern area of Canada, I met these delightful twins while I was trying to steal some government probe form the Arctic Circle. They were the only reason Young Justice didn't freeze to death.

Now in present time, I am on another errand for my dear beloved father. Since he's realized I'm a lot more efficient than any of his goons, I'm getting sent out on even more missions than normal. Currently I'm racing through the streets of Central City, ironically still haven't met up with the speedster himself. I technically haven't done anything yet, I'm on my way to do bad things. Still no sign of The Flash, do I have to send out a homing beacon for him to know I'm here. I drove by a bank that was on fire, but still seemed fine. It looked as though a truck had driven through it. Hm, maybe that's where he is.

Bored, I followed the tire tracks and the charred sections of road. I wonder who has that power here? Then next to the char marks, I started to see a lot of ice. Captain Cold it is with Heat Wave. Have to love whoever came up with these names, he's brilliant. Deciding I'd rather not get in this mess and might as well get my mission over with so Joker won't nag me, I turned my bike away. Heading in my direction was a police squad.

"This is not my lucky day" turning full circle I continue on my path to follow the parade of destruction. I sped up to hopefully catch up to the troublesome trio, villain and hero alike. I pulled up on a crash site, Snart and Rory were going hard against the fan favourite Flash. I got off my bike and shook out my hair, deciding it would at least occupy me for now, I make moves towards the fight. "Hey boys!" All the men turned to me, the Flash not so happy to recognize me, and the other two confused and annoyed by my presence. "There's a huge squad of police on their way here now, not too far behind me."

Annoyed the two villains begin to fight as they run away, then a gas bomb is thrown before them. First Rory disappears, then Snart, the gas moves closer. I run back to my bike as it reaches the fastest man alive, he too disappears. I speed away before it can reach me, but I became acutely aware of what was happening. Someone was taking both villains and heroes alike, at their most vulnerable.

Later that evening after finishing my mission, I returned to the scene. It was sectioned off with police tape as a crime scene, but that wouldn't deter me. I entered and checked the spots I last saw the disappeared. I gasped, rushing away from the scene.

To understand, one must first know that each dimension has it's own trace, I know three distinctly off by heart. The Mainstream, where we began, where all is fictional. The DC as I call it, which I inhabit right now, and my birth dimension. The Marvel MCU, which is where I was for the duration of Captain America's time in the 40s. Now in all the areas where I last saw these people, I I found inter-dimensional travel traces. It was done sloppily, making it easier for me to find the traces. It is also made to be found by those who protect the barrier between dimensions, they leave no trace but can pick up on illegal travel. Not only is it my job to protect the dimensions and keep them separate, but I also recognized this trace it is form the mainstream.

Somehow, they not only have discovered that all their fictional worlds are merely different dimensions but they also established a way to travel between them and are now kidnapping super-powered beings. I have to find a way to stop them and ensure that everyone is returned safely.

I thought over this for weeks. I paced in the abandoned Quarters Hearts lair thinking up all the possible scenarios that could occur. Trying to figure out how they are doing it and how to stop them. I knew my body adjusted to each dimension in order for me to suit the deemed lifestyle, but in that world my powers were non existent. I was talented without my powers, but I wasn't sure what I would be facing once I returned to the Mainstream dimension. The only solution I had was to get help form others, only after I scout the area.

Everyone back at the mansion was on edge, Bruce had gone missing on patrol last night, and Dick and Jason were obviously flipping out. Turns out with me so focused on everything else, I didn't realize exactly how many were missing. The entire league thus far was missing [except for those off world], and half the villains were gone. Total chaos as you can guess for young Justice, I decided that tonight I would set my plan in motion...
