Narrator's P.O.V

Connie Malli is a young thirteen year old girl, living in the crazy and chaotic world of Tulsa Oklahoma. Hanging around with her friends, and living life day by day. Dealing with hardships and struggles.
Connie had beutiful long blonde hair, and ice blue eyes. She was kinda short, with a height of 5'2, very skinny, and occasionally shy.

Connie's P.O.V

" Hi, can I pick some funeral stuff out? " I said to the cashier at the funeral home.

" Sure, go right ahead let me know if ya need anything. " she said motioning to everything. I hated picking this stuff out, man I wanted to cry the whole time. However, I can't really cry. I'm a greaser, and greasers never cried. To greasers, crying is usually a sign of weakness. It still hurt though.
I picked some stuff out, and then told the cashier that I would have to pay in a few days, so she kept everything there for me.

" Thanks, sorry I couldn't pay today. " I said to her.

" It's no problem, I understand. We wouldn't hold merchandise if it was a problem. " the cashier said with a smile.

" Well thanks again, I'll hopefully see you in a few days. " I said as I left the store. I walked back to my house, which was only about three minutes away from the funeral home.
When I got home, I was alone. Which wasn't a surprise, I was usually always home alone. My dad worked all the time, and my older brother would usually be out with friends.
Even when they were home, they were usually too tired to hang around with me. My mom had died two years ago, due to a drunk driver. My mom usually always had time for me, even though she worked two jobs.
My dad and brother ignoring me didn't bother me, I liked being home alone. Sometimes my friends would even come over. My dad and brother were nice, they just never had time for me.
If anything happened though, my friends lived a few minutes away. In my town everyone pretty much knew everyone, so even if my friends couldn't help, I could find someone who could.
Whenever I was home alone, I would just watch TV, or play outside on the tree swing in my backyard. I grabbed a popsicle and sat on the tree swing. I sat there lightly swinging and eating the popsicle.
We had a privacy fence, so no one could see me. Which was good, since I was home alone. I saw a rock fly over the fence. It had a peice of paper on it.
I got up from the swing, and grabbed the rock, then read the note.

Hey Connie, we had a feeling you were back there. Or you may not be, who knows? Anyways, wanna hang out?

I knew who the note was from, the one and only Two-Bit Matthews. Two-Bit was the funniest guy anyone could meet. He just lived to make people happy, he didn't care who or how. Two-Bit was always making jokes and he loved doing it. Most times he was drunk, but even when he was sober, he was still just as crazy and funny.
I always kept a pen on me, just incase I would need it. I took it out and wrote on the other side of the paper.

Hey, Two-Bit! Sure, I'd love to hang out. Let me go get some stuff, and I'll be right out.

I threw the rock back over the fence. Then I ran inside, and grabbed my satchel. I put some money, and snacks in it. I grabbed my Jean's jacket, and through it on. I ran to lock my front door, and ran back outside.
I had to move the step ladder, to get over the fence. I climbed up the ladder, and over the fence. I walked towards the sidewalk, and found Two-Bit and Laura Carter.
Laura was a member of the gang, and she usually went around with Two-Bit, me, and most of the gang. Laura is 16, and was sorta short, but taller then me. She was 5'8. Her hair was long, and a brown color, with a reddish tint to it.
Laura tended to have anxiety, but she tried to be as sociable as she could. Which wasn't usually a problem when she was around the gang. The good thing, was her since of humor, it was like Two-Bit's. She was always a happy-go-lucky type of person, at least when she was around the gang.

" Couldn't you of just used the front door? " Two-Bit asked pointing to the door.

" I had to lock it. " I said looking up at him.

" Did you lock it with a key, or do you have a key? " he asked looking down at me.

" No. " I said.

" Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but how do you plan to get back in your house without a key? " he asked with a laugh.

" Um crap, I'll find a way. " I said giggling.

" Let's hope, I don't want to be stuck with you. " Two-Bit said elbowing me in the arm. I laughed, and looked over at Laura.

" How ya been? " I asked.

" Not too bad. " she said.

" How's home treatin' you? " I asked.

" It's good. My mom and dad have been home a lot more, but they still leave for work trips every now and then. My sister's good, she's just being her. " she answered as we started walking.

" Good. So, where we goin' Two-Bit? " I asked looking over to him.

" Um, how 'bout gettin' somethin' to eat, I'm starving. " he said.

" I'm down. " I said. We walked to the closest restaurant, and sat down at a window seat. The waitress came over and asked for our orders, and we told her. Are food came a few minutes after and we started to eat. Two-Bit was shoving food in his mouth faster then someone could say eat.

" You sure are hungry Two-Bit, did your mom finally stop feeding you? " I said laughing.

" Not yet, she will though if I keep eatin' all the food in the house. " he said through bites of his food. Laura and I laughed, and continued to eat our food. By the time we finished Two-Bit had already eaten three burgers, and had four beers.
I didnt know if we were slow, or if that kid could eat. It was probably somewhere in the middle. We payed for our food, and left.
