Connie's P.O.V

" You're right, but what about Johnny? " I asked, glancing down at my friends dead body.

" The doctors should take car of him. " Pony said, his voice cracking at the sight of Johnny.

" Okay, let's hurry and get to the house. " I said walking out the door. Pony and I walked as fast as we could down the hallway, and down the stairs. We walked out the door, and started to run.

" I hope we make it on time, Dally's a lose cannon, who knows what'll happen. " I stated, as we ran down the street.

" Dally's unstable right now, who knows what he'll do. Johnny was his closest friend, now he's gone, not to mention Kaitlyn before hand. " Pony said back. I hoped I was right, but Pony was right. Dally was really unstable, I just hoped he wouldn't do anything too drastic.
Pony and I ran all the way to the Curtis front steps, adrenalin flowing through every vein in our bodies.
Pony and I quickly ran up the steps and opened the door to the house, hurrying inside.

" Hey y'all. " Darry said looking us both up and down.

" What's wrong guys? " Soda said looking up from Steve.

" Johnny's dead. Dally couldn't take it, he's gonna blow. " Pony said, pure fear in his eyes. Everyone was there, and everyone stared at Pony, they couldn't believe what they just heard, or they didn't want to beleive it.
There wasn't much we could do, so we just had to sit and wait until something happened. We couldn't stop Dally if we didn't know what he was planning.
Man, it was killing me inside, I didn't know if Dally would be alright, Johnny just died. That's two of my friends, dead, in one week. My mind tried to deny everything, but I knew it was true. This was the harsh reality.
I was pulled from the thoughts when the phone rang. Steve got up and walked over to answer it.

" Yeah? " Steve asked.

" No this is Steve. Dally? " I heard Steve say, everyone quickly perked up, especially Pony and I.

" Yeah sure. " Steve said, holding the phone is Darry's direction. Darry took the phone and put it up to his ear.

" Hello? " Darry said.

" Yeah. " Darry said, his expression wavering.

" Sure, Dal. Are you alright? " Darry asked sounding kinda worried.

" We know. " Darry stated.

" Hang on we'll be right there. " was the last thing Darry said before he hung up the phone, the rest of us anxious to hear what was happening.

" That was Dally, the cops are after him, we gotta hide him. " Darry said frantically. I could tell all of our hearts just sank to our stomach. Dang it, Dallas, what happened to being smart?
We all ran out of the house, no matter if we had shoes or not. I don't think any of us had run so fast before, rushing to get to the park as fast as possible.
It's okay, as long as Dally doesn't do anything too stupid, he'll just go to the cooler for a little while if he gets caught.

" Drop it! " we heard as shots fired. No, please no, please say it's not what I think. Everyone was frantically screaming as we rushed to where Dally was. Shots firing into the cold air of that, now colder, night.

" No. " Pony said as we walked up to, a now crawling Dallas Winston.

" Pony. " Dally gasped to say as he rolled over onto that cold hard road.

" You stupid idiots! You stupid freaks! " Darry yelled in pure rage and sadness.

" That's Johnny and Dallas, dead in a night. " Pony said glancing down at Dally's lifeless body laying on that  concrete street. Another teenage kid's life taken on the cold street of Tulsa Oklahoma, a small town, where you would never expect so many lives to be taken.
Pony couldn't take it, and down he went, fainting onto the floor. Soda bent down, trying to shake him awake, it was no use. The cops were sorting out what to do with Dally, while Darry picked Pony up.
The boys started walking back to the Curtis house, occasionally looking back at Dally on the floor. Samantha started to tear up, she was good friends with Dally. Laura just stared down at the body, not knowing what to do or what to think.

" It was one big suicide mission, Dally just couldn't handle it. First Kaitlyn, then Johnnycake, it all made deep wounds in him. In the end, he couldn't see the good side to what he had, he got what he wanted, to be dead. " I said tears running down my face.

" Why, why do all our friends have to die, what did we do to deserve it! " Samantha yelled, tears the size of waterfalls streaming down her reddened face.

" We didn't do anythin' to deserve it, it was just bound to happen. " I said, still not knowing how to react to the situation.

" Well, we need to get you out of here Samantha, before Tulsa gets flooded. Standin' here ain't helpin'. " Laura said, hugging her friend.

" Okay. " Samantha agreed, sobbing into Laura's shoulder. They walked off, and I was left, sitting alone in the dark, with no light except for police cars, staring at my dead friend. The third friend I've lost, in a week! My life was getting so freaking bad, it was getting hard to take.
I looked at the blood drying on Dally's bare chest, he was so young, he didn't deserve this! Sure, he messed up, but he didn't deserve to die. At least he was with Johnnycake and Kaitlyn now.
I stood up, looking at the cops and my friend one last time before I walked off, tears still running down my face. That same emotionless feeling was back, but I couldn't think about it too much, if I did I'd end up like old Dallas, dead in a cold street.
I walked back to my house, and sat on the porch, it started to rain. I watched at rain hit the concrete of the sidewalk. I completely forgot I had school tomorrow, at this point I didn't care, I couldn't care. I had more to worry about. I wasn't going to school tomorrow even if I wanted to, no way. Man, life was so unfair.
