Connie's P.O.V
My day did get worse, but I finally heard the heavenly sound of the school bell. I managed to get shoved into my locker, get embarrassed in science, fall on the way to my lunch table, and get tripped by a Soc. This was the worst first day of school I had experienced in a while.
I was about a block away from my house, when I was stopped by some voices. I looked up from my feet as I walked. There were three Socs, they looked about three years older then me. Great, now I was going to get jumped. This was the worst day ever." What are you doing walking all by your lonesome, grease? " one Soc asked, but it was more of a statement.
" Yeah. Why don't we do you a favor and end your walk home a little short for you. " the other Soc said, as he flipped our a switchblade. The Soc, who hadn't said anything, pushed me down. I landed on my hands. I felt my eyes start to get hot, I was going to cry.
" Oh, is the grease going to cry? " the Soc who pushed me down said in a baby voice. The Soc with the blade pushed me down, so I was now laying flat on my back.
He brought the blade up to my neck, and I felt it slowly slide across my neck. It wasn't doing anything, but I knew the boy wasn't using pressure. I didn't want to move, because if I did, I could slit my own throat. I layed there trying not to move or let tears escape my eyes." You ain't trying to fight me grease, that makes this a lot easier. " the Soc said as he pushed the blade a little more to my neck.
" Maybe she has a death wish. " the other Soc said, and they laughed. I felt the blade start to cut my skin, as he slid the blade slowly across my neck.
" Drop the blade. " I heard a stern voice say, then I heard a gun trigger being slightly pulled back. I could of sworn I turned white. The Socs turned around and slowly put their hands in the air.
" Okay, okay, lady don't shoot. " the Soc said as he put the blade down on the ground. I slowly brought my hand to my neck, there was only a little bit of blood.
" Good, now take your blade, and get lost. I don't want you to ever come back here. Get lost! " I heard the voice yell. The one Soc quickly grabbed his switchblade, and all three of them ran.
I sat up to see who had stopped the three boys, and there was Kaitlyn, putting her gun back in the waistband of her jean shorts, but she wasn't alone." Hey, you alright kid? " she asked as she offered her hand to me.
" Yeah, thanks. You really saved my butt back there. " I said taking her hand.
" Of course, we weren't going to leave you there. " she said as I stood up. I looked over and saw Dallas Winston smoking a cigarette.
Dallas had brown hair, and brown eyes. His eyes burned with a hatred of the whole world, he had been hardened by the world. He grew up on the streets of New York, then moved to Tulsa. He had one of the biggest reputations with the police, all he did was cause trouble." Why's he here? " I asked.
" Oh, yeah. I was walkin' and saw this one, decided I'd make sure he wasn't gettin' his butt in too much trouble. " Kaitlyn said with a small laugh.
" Watch your mouth red head. " Dally said as he took a drag on his cigarette.
" You didn't bother to help? " I asked.
" Figured I'd let hot head handle it. " he said as he shrugged. Kaitlyn rolled her eyes, then glared at Dally.
" Anyways, let's get you home. " Kaitlyn said as she messed up my hair. We walked back to my house, and I unlocked my front door.
" Are you home alone? " Kaitlyn asked looking into my house.
" Yeah. I always am, it's normal. " I said turning back to her.
" Why don't you come with us, we're headin' to the Curtis house. " she said with a smile.
" Okay, sure. " I said shrugging.
" You mean I gotta help babysit a kid? " Dally said crossing his arms.
" She ain't a kid, Dallas. She's a teenager. " Kaitlyn defended me.
" Whatever, if she dies it's your fault. " Dally said rolling his eyes.
" Deal. " Kaitlyn said smirking at Dally. I put my backpack down by the door, and locked the door back. We started to walk to the Curtis house.
" Wait, Kaitlyn. Shouldn't you of been in school? " I asked realizing high schoolers went to school thirty minutes later then me.
" Um, yeah. About that, um. " Kaitlyn stuttered.
" Did your dumb rear end skip school? " Dally said with a smirk.
" No. I just didn't feel like goin' the last fourtyfive minutes. Besides thirty minutes were basically social hour. It was still better then not goin' to school at all. " Kaitlyn said with a intentional cough at the end as she looked at Dally.
" You're a real peice of crap, y'know that? " Dally said glaring at Kaitlyn.
" Well I guess it's better then skipping a whole day. " I said shrugging and playing along with Kaitlyn.
" Exactly. " Kaitlyn said with a smirk. We walked the rest of the way to the Curtis house in silence.
