Reckless Slumber
The black night held me close until dawn as I hugged my body to preserve heat. Yet again, I couldn't be granted the sweet release of sleep, I sighed, continuing to wonder around Vox's abode. Objects that adorned his hallways seemed twisted and unnatural, my eyes barely able to discern the shapes. The blanket I was holding draped along the floor as I strolled aimlessly through the numerous rooms.
Suddenly I heard a shuffle behind me, Vox leaned against the doorway, his arm sliding down the frame.
'What are you doing up, Y/N?'
'Same thing I could ask you,' I retaliated, crossing my arms in defiance but promptly dropped them, 'I couldn't sleep..'
He sighed, placing a hand to his forehead in a somewhat tired manner.
'Well I can't have you just.. wondering around my house at night'.'Is it because I can't be trusted?' I asked in a joking tone.
'Precisely dear, now I'll escort you to your room,' Vox placed a hand behind my back, ushering me to my room.
My eyes drooped, my motions become more lazy and unsure as I stumbled to my bed. Vox, as motherly as he could, pulled the covers over my body, ensuring I was comfortable. Because of my sleepy state, I didn't realise the digital blush that formed on his computer screen, this drowsy state also made me more reckless with my actions as I leaned forward to tug on his blazer while he attempted to exit the room.
'Stay a little longer..' My voice falling to a whisper.
Vox sighed, feigning annoyance and proceeded to lay beside me begrudgingly, grumbling words of him being a demon and he can't have all this compassion.
'Oh shush you big lump'. I murmured, beginning to get into a comfortable position around him.
Vox opened his mouth to object to my statement but closed it when he noticed my arms wrapping around his torso and my head snuggling into his neck, my warm breath tickling him.
'Big, adorable lump,' I whispered, almost being succumbed to the state of sleep.
But not until Vox leaned over to kiss(?) my sleeping figure.
