Jealousy brings out the best in us.
Y/H = Your HobbyAll my life, I was told that Cherri was the jewel of the family, the reason that my relatives even visited, the reason that my parents even loved me is that I was a direct copy of her. But if anyone even cared enough to look beyond the surface, they'll find I have my own life, but a life where I'm constantly overshadowed by my sister.
'You look exactly like Cherri, are you copying her?'
'You're nice, but, no offence, I prefer your sister'.
'Yeah, we can hang out, only if you bring your sister'.I'm sick of it. I'm sick of her. If I ever, even had the smallest little achievement, it would be disregarded because of my sister's want, no, need, to have all the attention on her.
I was always the copycat.
But did they ever consider that I was the original?I was determined to show people I was my own person and not just a blatant copy of Cherri and Hell's New Year Ball at the Happy Hotel was the perfect opportunity. I pressed my back against the wall, becoming consumed in the darkness of the evening night. Blood painted the sky red, the golden crimson stretched across the horizon as light seeped into broken windows. The sky painted itself along the outside of the Happy Hotel, its odd shapes casting shadows of peculiar shapes, quite advantageous to hide in.
My eyes swept the floor of the place from the window in the upper balcony; demons of all shapes and sizes laughing and dancing along to the obnoxious music blaring through the amplifiers. The hotel, however, was decorated rather festively for a party in Hell, various coloured cloths and banners hung from the ceilings supporting posts, each of the posts golden encrusted with plush crimson fabric. A bar was off to the side, the floor was of a different pattern, I deducted that the room was infused with the main area, manning the bar was a stout woman. In the far corner, there was a raised podium, situated on the platform was two identical thrones, each of the same scarlet plush material the sofas and columns were of. The Royals of Hell were perched on the thrones, Lilith happily chatting with another demon to the side, while Lucifer rested his hand on his cheek, seemingly uninterested with the ball. I couldn't pick out many important people from the crowd, only consisting of a flurry of colours and drunk demons. But towards the edge, Vox, Valentino and Velvet stood talking in an enclosed group, I could just about catch parts of their conversation from my position: 'My business is flopping Vox, I need more girls, but I've had no luck finding any willing whores, it's tragic!' Vox and Velvet offered words of comfort for the overlord, albeit Velvet's words being most of giggles and laughter.
Drawing my eyes away from them, I dropped from the upper balcony onto the entrance way, I sighed, redirecting the air-flow to my long bangs. For that brief moment my blonde hair fanned upwards before resettling just over my eyes. Repositioning a strand of hair that had gotten loose in my extravagant updo as I patted my dress down, the red velvet fabric becoming smooth after my grasp, my dress was low cut, criss crossed black straps stretching across my chest. My waist was shrouded in a laced corset, my red skirt moved slightly in the wind, the velvet material rubbing against my bare legs.
I ignited the bomb, ripping the safety pin away in a swift movement, a yellow ball of flame then engulfed the entranceway, the door burning to ash in the intense heat the explosion produced. The explosion billowed outwards, demons yelling in the chaos of the events.
Unexpectedly, I emerged from the swarm of flames, eyes immediately going wide at noticing my presence. The screaming ceased, most people whispering as Lucifer stood up from his throne to navigate the scene, I saw Cherri in the crowd, her expression one of resembling an owl.
'Isn't that Cherri?' One incredibly incorrect demon spoke up.
'WRONG, I'm Y/N!I heard Valentino audibly whisper to Vox,
'I think we've found our girl'.
