The foundations of the structure was unsteady, some detritus falling from the roof and outside of it. It had shattered windows, vines and flora entwining around the crumbling bricks that were just about holding the walls up.
A cold breeze ran down my left leg, making me shiver with the touch, it was as if a ghostlike hand was coaxing me into its abode. I glanced at Valentino, who seemed just as out of it as I was, his glasses practically fell off at this point, just hanging from the bridge of his nose.
'We've got to go in.' I spoke softly, the wind gusts nearly silencing my speech. He gave me a slow nod in return as we strode forward to the now very menacing building.
Pushing the flimsy door open, the inside seemed as abandoned as the outside, the floor was concrete and the walls were a dirtied white with crackling plaster. There were a few menial objects around, a table and a lonesome chair, that looked as if it was subjective to falling at any moment.
We explored the structure, red light sifting through the gaps that were once filled with glass panes.
'This is who I am.'
I perked up as I heard a faint noise, it sounded like a whisper. I didn't recognise the voice, probably because it was strained so much. I gestured to Valentino that I heard something as he walked beside me. We listened closely as the sentence was repeated again.
'This is who I am.'
'This is who I am.'
'This is who I am.'
Towards the corner, I observed a shadow of an entity sitting there, rocking back and forth occasionally with its legs tucked up to its chest.
'Y/N?' I murmured, frightened of the thing.
As soon as I said it, the creature's neck made a horrifying noise, as if its bones just broke, its head swivelled to face us but it's body was facing the other way.
As my eyes adjusted to the sudden light change, since we were in a windowless area, I realised the creature bore a complexion similar to Y/N.
This was Y/N.
What had she done?
She had the other part of her mask on, but the other half of her supposed face was horrifying. The same ink like liquid poured from her eye socket, dripping onto the floor below her, soiling it with the substance. Her pupils were dilated and seemed devoid of any life. And her smile.
Her smile showed off her jagged teeth, blackened with age and neglect, but the far most frightening factor of her appearance was the slits along the dyes of her mouth. It acted like she was smiling constantly, the cut bleeding along the edges, which darkened the wound further.
I approached her cautiously as she just watched me, I spotted a knife by her side, I deducted it was the 'shiny metal object' that Vox was talking about, it was most likely the weapon she used to defame her appearance.
Without any warning, she got up, straying further away from us.
'I bet you wish now you never saw me smile.'
